I went to a Wal-Mart this morning and was looking at the IM 2 figures for Whiplash, Nick Fury etc. I looked at the shelf tages and there was about 40 IM 2 figures on the pegs. Then it had a handwritten number that said 157. I looked at the IM 2 Arc chest light toys and it had a number of 65 next to the shelf tag.
I checked with a WM employee and asked what those numbers were for. My guess is when they did inventory a couple of weeks ago. BinGo! They said that is how many is on the floor and in the back room. Funny because whenever I've asked about IM 2 figures I am told "whatever is on the floor is all we have." Now I am told 157 figures on the floor and in the back room. I wonder how many Whiplashes are sitting back there? |

Walmart, Target, TRU, just about every store is loaded with IM2 figures. I predict these will end up at discount stores like Ross/Marshalls/TJ Maxx sometime next year. Maybe even Family Dollar and Big Lots.

Everywhere is loaded with IM2 action figures.
They are worse than Indiana Jones was here.

'Bro really dropped the ball on these. How many versions of IM does one need? They are loaded down with them at every store around here.

It wouldn't be so bad, except for two problems. One, like Indy, Iron Man has a signature look and having 52 figures that look just about the same doesn't help sell. Two, most stores are overloaded with the first wave, and some of the second. This means, like Indy again, that the pegs are too overstuffed with things we don't want to fit in the new stuff we do.
Last time this happened, I never even saw the Temple of Doom wave, this time I don't think I'll ever see a movie Nick Fury or Black Widow.

To be fair, these figures are being shown at Com-Con as hitting pegs on August 2010. They definitey need to reduce the price on these to move them, but even that may not work - as was stated, how many different armors does the average kid really want?

I hate the leg articulation on the im2 figs it limits playability alot. I also think they will end up at discount stores, i really would have liked to see a lab/house playset but since the line is basically dead im pretty sure we have no chance in that. Oh and i want more warmachines. And yes my walmart is loaded with them
