Does anyone know where to find decent 1/18 scenery for dioramas, either retailers or manufactures? UK or Europe would be best, but I would look at importing if I needed to. Really looking for buildings and interiors, and so far have only managed to find crates, drums etc. Everything I've found so far seems to be geared to the miniatures and railway guys.

Marauder's has some useful interior items (as well as barrels and boxes! ;)): Marauder "Gun-Runners" Home Page

Cheers, lardman; already got some stuff from Maurader, what I really need now is some buildings, like walls, ruins that sort of thing. Just something to make the displays a bit more interesting. Everything I have found so far is 1/35 and smaller. There's always the World Peacekeepers range, but it would be great to get something with a more medieval vibe for Castle Destro. Looks like I may have to scratch build something!

Yeah, scratch building would probably be best. You'll be surprised what foamcore, styrene, cardboard, styrofoam, some putty, glue and paint can accomplish. Besides, 1/18 scale buildings would be expensive, just check out what the model railroad ones go for.

Model Railroad ones are WAY overpriced!
My Dad and I have a Lionel train layout, and the accessories make any GI JOE toy look like a bargain! Mikes Train House makes Fabulous ctiy and country style buildings with lights already installed. BUT they cost 20-50$ each!!! The whole model Rail Road hobby could use a pricing war like PCs had back in the 1990s. Most of the rail cars are re-using molds that were probably made 40 years ago! So there can't possably be much tooling cost! ...The quest for GI JOE scale scenary always seems to lead back to make it yourself. Marauder seems to be the only place that makes anything for us JOE fans to make a decent backdrop... Tankers are the best JOE fans!

21st Century Toys had some good diorama pieces a few (5-ish) years ago. You might be able to find them, but I have no idea how much they go for.
Schleich has some stuff that I've seen people use in Joe set ups, and it looks good, but is really expensive. It sounds like you need something like this though: Amazon.com: Schleich Castle Wall, Wide: Toys & Games |
