Been watching E3, and it got me wondering. I know how this is a toy forum and all, but I suspect we all grew up with video games as well.
That being the case, I ask: if for whatever reason, due to budget or angry parent/wife/significant other, you could only get either new toys/action figures or new video games - which one would win out? Looking at Habro's fall line-up, while I appreciate the price-drop of the POC figures from ROC, the vehicles add up to about the price of video games. Also, Hasbro's big ticket items like the AT-AT far exceeds the price of a single game. Moreover, if distribution and availibility does not go well, hard to find figures means online prices with shipping or else scalper prices - so that video games become a less frustrating alternative. Ultimately, for me, and maybe this is because I only got back to Joes at the tail end of the 25th line, as between one toy that I like versus one video game that I like, and I could get only one - video game wins out all the time. The re-playability wins out for me as, these days, I only really pose the figures and all the playing plays out in my head. |

Action Figures, tied with Wife/Girlfriend, then Video Games.
I've heard too many horror stories from casual encounters.

buh-dum psh!
Definitely spend more on my girl. Next would be toys. More than I'd like to. After that would be a reasonable amount on video games.

Well girls/women-folk can vote for Casual Encounters, Video games, and Toys - those are gender neutral. As for the wife/gf choice, everyone knows girls/women-folk get guys to buy stuff for them, so they just can place a vote for that choice on behalf of their men. (ok, I admit I just wasn't thinking)

Sex, drugs and toys, in that order.

Mainly figures, I usually only get games used after they've been out for a while. Unless the game something major.
