I recently went home to New Orleans to see my nephew graduate from a boys school--done with the 7th grade GOOOO DOUG! Anyways, we checked out a BIG LOTS and I found this Secret Saturdays GRIFFIN JET that Ive never seen before. This thing is cool as hell and has alot of potential for customizing. The cockpit can fit at least one to two joes, its fairly big and simple and the shape is pretty clean. It has no landing gear but Im looking to Lego to get simple landing gear that can attach to lego pieces I plan to glue underneath...and yes, they will roll. I remembered the Navy's AVENGER II project aka the flying DORITO
General Dynamics A-12 "Avenger II" (1991) CryptidSaturdays.com | A Website Based on Cartoon Network's Original Series, The Secret Saturdays It shoots two missiles and has a handle that attaches permanently if you install, please dont, takes about 9 screws to take it apart and get it out. The jet also fits Imaginext figures as well as any small 3 inch or 3 3/4 inch figures. A little sticky tack goes a long way. You might be able to cannibalize some seats from an old Joe vehicle but other than that, its pretty cool and the best part, it was only 5$. It has rear stabilzers that angle outward, you can swap them to angle them in or leave them off entirely to look like the A-12 AVENGER II. Oh yeah, my pilots call signs will be NACHO and COOL RANCH |

No landing gear. I did a work in progress. You can get some idea of the scale. Also the stabilizers aren't interchangable without modification.

Just got finished with the primer, I taped off the cockpit and the light grey panels, she is looking better. Definately closer to becoming the AVENGER II. I plan on putting in landing gear albeit from lego and epoxy.
The cockpit fits Joe scale pilots with no problem, Imaginext pilots can sit tandom. Sticky tack needs to be used or find some seats from old RAH vehicles. Im contemplating putting in some missile racks on the under wings. She is about the same size as the SKY SWEEPER/F-117. |
