Pretty much the entire line of Marvel figures from the '90s. They're not bad, but now I wish I'd saved my $$ for other things.

Most of the Transformers Energon and Armada toys. Should have saved up and went on a shopping spree for Cybertron(have some, way better toyline).
Most of my Gundam MSiA! figures. Eh, I can see why a lot of collectors don't like PVC figures now; I prefer ABS. The larger Arch Enemies figures were made with ABS and are way better. Robot Damashii has less PVC and is way better. XMO Wolverine Origins figures |

I very rarely buy a figure I regret. In fact, I can't think of any that I do regret getting.

FFXIII Lightning, overpriced and ended up hating the game so much I threw the figure back in it's box.

The Deadpools were cool and the comic series Wolvie were cool IMO |

Adding more: Star Wars 1st Clone Wars figures(the ones from 2004 or so), realistic style - dug the looks, hated the compromised articulation and range of motion. Regret. Star Wars 2004 saga Jedi ROTJ Luke - What was deemed super articulated at the time due to multiple cut joints was ultimately just disappointing. Yamato Macross V1 1/60 VF-1A Hikaru Custom - The V2 1/60 and 1/48 blow it out of the water. As much as people complain about Toynami's MPC's they were better toys than the V1 1/60 VF-1. Better than the V2 1/60 and 1/48? No. Bandai Macross 7 1/65 VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie - Overpaid for this thing only to see it reissued years later for much, much cheaper. Decent toy, albeit very, very toyetic even compared to the Takatoku 1/55 VF-1's. ROC Night Raven - Too small for price, paper stickers, box image was photoshopped to make it look much larger than the figure, ultimately disappointing, the $26.99 True Heroes F-22 from TRU is a better purchase. Toynami 1/100 VF-1's - Cracked polycaps on both of mine, fun battroid mode, but again, busted polycaps=loose joints, fighter mode tail fins were too small, et al. Great price, skeptical quality. Aoshima Legioss MPC - OMG I have not witnessed buyer's regret this bad for years until I opened this item. I had heard about the questionable qc prior to buying and I bought it under MSRP. Nonetheless, not cool, had a pin that was not pushed in all the way resulting in a loose arm, the design itself is plagued with issues(why would you put diecast on a part connected to a fragile sliding mechanism without a ratcheting joint on the shoulder?!), and I had a few small broken parts. Not the most pleasant of experiences and the worst item I have bought from a convention. The sad thing is, while the Tread/Beta fighter has had excellent toys, the Legioss/Alpha has not. It's a shame really, the Legioss is a great mecha design. |
