would anyone here on hisstank ever buy a hitler figure that was part of a 12 inch world war 2 military leaders line? amd if you did would you display the hitler figure in your home?
i'm asking this because there's a toy review site that recently did a review on a inglourious basterds figure. at the end of the review he stated he would be displaying the figure next to his hitler figure. that really bothered me for so many reasons and i'm wondering if anyone else is bothered by this. i know this a extreme comparison but it's almost like displaying action figures of the 9/11 hijackers, if they ever made any. i'm sure the reviewer is just looking at it as a toy and doesn't mean to offend anyone. |

Unless you're setting up some kind of Nazi shrine or something, I don't see any problem with it. If you are big into WWII figures, then a Hitler figure would fit right in.
I'd love to have some 4" 9/11 hijacker type guys for my Joes to fight. |

I think a lot of 12 inch military collectors want a bad guy for dios and such. I've also found most 12" Joe collectors and Joe collectors in general are extremely patriotic.
Many 12 inch collectors are also history buff types who want it all, this is why someone did actually sell a Binladen doll and such. They bought Romel but they also bought Bob Hope, I think to many 12 inch collectors it's an expression of History not idols to worship. I sort of see your point but Cotswold and other companies have sold these for years, there's a market for them. They may be in bad taste but thats the nice thing about freedom. So it goes both ways |

You cannot be scared of a piece of plastic nor someone who was from history. The end of the day each to their own.
Just cause you have a Hitler figure doesn`t make you a Nazi nor should anyone be forced to believe so due to peer pressure. You have to recall TrU stopped selling 21st TUS Germans due to the very nature of what they were & some simpleton complaining. Hitler, Himmler, Reinhardte, Vlad the Impaler, Gengis Khan, Caeser, Churchill, Stalin, Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Castro, etc etc have all been done in 1/6th yet somewhere out there are people who could take offense to them being made. Buy them, display them, keep them. It`s not like you have bought into an ideology. It`s a free country & if they are made legaly well there are NO reasons to feel ashamed. |

If I'm setting up a WW2 or collecting WW2 figs, why now? It's a toy. I buy Cobra Commander, and he's a ruthless terrorist leader, determined to rule the world. It isn't like I'm planning to take over the world with a ponzi scheme.
