It all depends on the reason getting it. Getting for the historical significance and meaning, for a dio display or something, then there's nothing wrong with it.
Getting it to build a shrine to the guy, then yeah, have some issues...

Hell No! I don't collect 12" toys, but I buy a 1/18 version in a heartbeat. It just a toy. It's not like I'm going worship it or anything.

A piece of plastic is harmless. I'm a huge Captain America fan and I always like a Red Skull figure to go with it. I would love a Joe scale Hitler, not because I'm a Nazi or because I share their ideology, but this is one of the biggest real villains the world has ever seen and it makes the triumph of the Allies that much greater.

I don't really see the problem with a Hitler figure, like him or not he was a military leader, and while his ideals were deplorable, he was a good MILITARY leader. Not a good human or good role model, and I would never view him as one. I own a Japanese Zero pilot G.I. Joe 12 inch, but I don't condone what happened at Pearl Harbor.

can we get one that has the Frinch Maid uniform from Little Nicky? It would even come with a pineapple.

I have a Mauser 98K that has a swastika stamped on the receiver, bayonets. and some authentic patches that have SS and swastikas on them. I also have a confederate saber and a 1937 KKK membership coin. All of these items are highly valuable and collectible parts of history, and I display them all. I someone gets offended by something that I had nothing to do with and happened before I was born, then that is their problem.

Piece of plastic never bothered me. They've done SS troops in 1:18 scale.

The reason for getting it has nothing to do with manufacturing it. It's amazing the number of things that are purchased for uses other than what was originally intended. If a person wants a Hitler figure in their collection, who cares.

"he was a good MILITARY leader" hitler was not a good military leader. for as much as i dislike the man i do acknowledge without knowing his true agenda that he was a very charismatic leader and an excellent speaker. and that's one of the reasons why so many germans fell under his spell. there were even some german jews who supported hitler when he first rose to power.
there is debate on whether or not hitler was a good military leader but i think this quote i found on a bbc website(BBC - History - World Wars: Hitler's Leadership Style) sums it up rather well: "Whatever the problems with his generals, however, there is no doubt that Hitler lacked many of the qualities he needed to control military affairs with consistent success" |

It think it's perfectly fine to buy this sort of action figure. It would be a great addition to my Abu Ghraib/Man love diorama.
