Anyone know of a 1/18th or close to scale space ship other than of course the Defiant. My son keeps telling me he wants a space ship, and I'm not having any luck finding one...and i cant afford 500 for a Defiant.

Try the Naboo Royal Starship from Star Wars Episode I, or the Millenium Falcon. Both are 3 3/4 compatible, and pretty decent.
The BMF (Big Millennium Falcon) that was out in stores last year & prior is amazing, but big. They go for around $120-$145 used. It's pretty big for a kid though. I have a POTF Falcon minus a few parts w/ working lights & sounds if you're interested. It's a bit smaller than the BMF, but fits around 10-15 figures. Pretty cool. Can let it go cheap or for a low trade if you want it. The Crusader (Joe) was just the shuttle from the Defiant sold separately, they go on Ebay minus a few parts for around $30-$40.

Try the Crusader shuttle, was released a year after the Defiant, it's just the Shuttle from the Defiant.
Not bad, has a mini-shuttle inside, air locks, what not. Pretty cool toy.

There was an anniversary version of the Apollo rocket released but I don't think its 1:18 scale.

What?!!! The Millennium Falcon is totally real!!!!
lol Sorry man, I haven't seen any space shuttle toys or anything for a long time. Nothing turned up on Google either. Only other thing I can think of is the old Space 1999 toy ship, but that's probably too expensive for a good one. Good luck. |

Both the Shuttle and the booster are very cool within the GI Joe universe - and both hold a lot of figures. You can occasionally find a tanker selling the booster and shuttle on here - incomplete - without the crawler, or on ebay. I agree with many people above - go with the crusader.
The BMF, as has already been said, is also very cool. Not sure if it still in stores or not.

I picked up 2 Crusaders loose & incomplete 2 years back for $30 shipped on Ebay, just something you have to keep your eye on. They are by no means rare, and pop up ever so often online.
If you're seriously in the market for one, maybe buy the parts that you know will be missing first (loose pieces that are often lost on this one would be the cockpit terminals that hold the figures in, the airhatch, the back detachable booster funnels, the top wings) since they'll be harder to find, and may take you longer to track down once you get one loose..
