I'm not much of a Dr. Who fan, but I know a nice action figure when I see one, and that definitely qualifies.

I always liked the Cybermen over the Daleks. Until they could be destroyed by tossing gold coins at them.
They were more sinister. The Daleks were what they were. Killing machines. They Cybermen would lie and scheme and to me that made them more dangerous. It's too bad none of the people from the new series seem to like the Cybermen. First they are from an alternate dimension so they are not the Cybermen proper. Second they take people and forcibly make them Cybermen, making them more victim than pure villain. It's like the Borg now. The old Cybermen would implant victims with cyber implants to enslave them but they never give them a full cyber conversion as far as I can remember. Third the Daleks kicked their ass in the new series. Depressing. |

They almost cyber-converted Colin Baker's Doctor during his run. I don't believe the gold vulnerability was brought in until Tom Baker when they were on Voga, but it was gold dust contaminating their breather apparatus, then later changed to the cheesy "anything gold can kill them" crap
Great figures, btw, there was a rumor that Moffat hates the newer Cyberman and was going to bring the classic version back. They do keep showing a New Cyberman head being picked up in some of the new trailers. |
