I like the idea of MASK being a unit with G.I. Joe - more of the civilian/domestic protectorate.
Hondo McLean would be a bad-ass Joe.... |

Seriously, with the success of GI Joe and Transformers you would have to think a MASK relaunch is on the horizon. Being 24, I don't really remember MASK but I have saw the toys and know of the show and would love to see this redone.

Kidding, but really it'd be cool if they slipped in some other figures if/when the joe line returns. |

I'd love a MASK revival, but Matt Trakker seems like he may have been more of an abandoned Annihilator rather than an attempt at a re-launch.

Anyway, to the point - as soon as I had the box ripped open all I could think was 'is this just an updated MASK vehicle or what? How cool would a modern MASK be done like this?' Then it hit me, we have already had Matt Trakker, and is it just me or does the Cobra Gunship not look just a little bit like Miles Mayhems Switchblade?
So, who else thinks that maybe Hasbro are testing the waters for a MASK revival? Think about it, folks, a 2 foot long Rhino ... |

I'm rather certain Hasbro didn't use the $170 million ROC movie platform to test the waters for a revitalization of what is essentially a forgotten 80's brand with no brand recognition beyond 35 year old collectors and no relevance to the modern market. maybe the Revenge of the Fallen line was a test grounds to relaunching the G-Bots as well.
nothing about that even makes the slightest bit of sense. |

I think the only chance of M.A.S.K. coming back would be a collector club deal or if the rights for a movie get picked up.

I dunno. The more I think about it, with Transformers so big now, a CGI movie with MASK cars could do REALLY well if done right. Get some licenses to make a brand new Camaro or mustang, or some SUVs and make em transform in war wagons. That movie and toy line could have some SERIOUS potential....even more than it did back then.
As for a 2' rhino...I just dont think we will ever see Flagg/Defiant type toys like that again. The Joe PITT was clearanced out at 50$..i doubt they will jump on that bandwagon again soon.

So would they keep MASK the original size or make them 1/18? Hard to say but the smaller size, I think, was part of the appeal.
