I'm looking for a couple of DC superheroes action figures in 1:18 scale. I've found several currently available new figures in larger scales, (and some online that do not list the scale) but I only want "Joe scale" (3.75 inch).
I know they were made in the 1980s as "pocket super heroes", but have they been done by a particular brand in 1:18 more recently? Any suggestions or info? Thanks very much.

The Infinite Heroes line is 3 3/4 inch, but most of them have awful articulation and are noticeably shorter than joes. I have a few and they look like children standing next to RoC and 25th Joes, which are 4 inch.

There were also some Batman and Superman microman Japanese imports, I don't remember how they stacked up against Joes size wise, though.
The DC Infinite Heroes are soooo disappointing. I hate how small they are relatively. |

Here you go. DCIH Public Enemies Superman and Batman, and DCIH Martian Manhunter. Full articulation. Though not as good articulation as MU or 25th anniversary joes.
But until someone comes out with something better, they'll do. I may have an extra superman and batman and possible others around. If you're interested, PM me and I can see what I dig up. Last edited by pud333; 03-19-2010 at 03:20 AM.. |

Those Infinite heros SUCK! That Sm/BM public enemies fig SUCKS. DC universe SUCKS!!!!!! They all fall apart. My Son tears through those like nothing. Gi Joes withstand all his play without breaking in a way which is impossible to fix like all that Mattel CRAP!

That's a little dramatic, but yeah, as CMC pointed out, the QC ain't the best. The original less articulated DCIH are more sturdy. I would only recommend these for diehard DC fans like me who absolutely MUST have a 3.75" Superman or Batman. I certainly wouldn't give these to kids, cause they'll snap pretty easily. They're mostly just for display. |

If your a collector who displays figures only (or "plays " with them only moderately) the DCIH figures Pud33 has pictured are more than adequate.
If your the type who puts your action figures through a "tough workouts" then the DCIH version 1 bodies , despite their flaws" are the way to go. Those things are built like 1980's Tonka trucks heh (and believe it or not display really well also). |

Here's some side by side with the V1 bodies. When you have a horde of these figures, they display very well together as Plasticfan has said. I let my 2 1/5 year old play with the v1 bodies and they are very durable, but for the collector, may not be what you're looking for in terms of articulation. Hopefully Mattel will get their act together and really give us some great 3.75" DC figures in the future. Superman, Batman, Martian Manhunter, Captain Atom have the new bodies and articulation. The female figures in this line are... really bad IMO. Their articulation is terrible, but they look okay. My Walmart was blowing these out at $2 each, so you may still find some good deals near where you live.
