Like the thread says, when certain movies have toy line, do you collect for celebrity likeness. When Iron Man 1 came out, decided to get the Iron Man figure with removable mask for Robert Downey Jr likeness. When The Dark Knight figures came out, ALOT of people were scrambling to get the Joker figure cause of Heath's untimely death and many think it will be valuable.

considering most toys only have a vague resemblance to the person they're representing, and many bear no resemblance at all, I've never even thought of this before.

Eh. I buy figures to have figures of the characters, not the actors playing them...of course I rarely try to buy movie based toy stuff anyway. In RoC's defense, I buy characters that did not appear in the movie mainly like Helix or Bench Press as I can count them as new Joes alongside the 25th ANN ones.

As I've said before, A toyline just for celebrities, no. A toyline for fictions that features celebrities and other well known actors and can't support it's own toyline, yes.

I bought the "Snow Bunny" Legacy Collection CW Padme because that is like the only one that REALLY looks like Natalie Portman; with her mole and everything.
