I understand what your saying about him having attributes of many of the preveious SEs. The main attraction is Resolute I think, and the fact that he looks RAD! That head is the coolest SE head ever! Cool weapons and gear, and original sculpts. The only other fig that has those parts is the one from the rescue pack. Arctic threat SS uses almost ALL of PP SE's parts. Isnt that repetitve? I'm just saying CS SE could have taken one of the slots that either AT SS or PP SE was taking up, considering they are the same fig.
On CS SE gear, the gun was from PP SE, the sword was from the other ROC SE, the smaller gun (whatever it was supposed to be) acutally looked out of scale, the scabbord for the sword was flimsy (was it made of rubber?) and stuck out in an odd way. The backoack was bulky as hadesm especially on top of the existing web gear. As for looking "RAD" ARAH V1, V2, and V3, all were RAD, VvV SE was RAD, 25th SE was RAD, There were many comic pack, exclusive, and special editions that were also RAD, but at the end of the day with all those behind him what makes another version that borrows from the previous ones is really anything different. I'm just not seeing it. As for Resolute, really I felt it was just ok, not bad but not great. The designs were OK, some better than others, but again nothing spectacular. I am sorry I am just not seeing this figure as being anything other than a copy of his predisesors. I see nothing original in the Design that I haven't seen a miryad of times before in the past almost 30 years. On artic thread SS, again its something new for that character, and a nice complement to his arch rival, I even jokingly call them the Matrix twins. Which is the point, I get somthing from those two, not just jokes, but something different from a long line of the same. |

Hey man. At the end of the day it's your list, and not mine. You don't think CS SE deserves to be on it, that's up to you. If I want CS SE on a list, maybe I should make my own list and quit hatin'! HA! PEACE!

I can't agree with #2. Yeah that Palpatine is a great mold, but that's the uglist head they've put on it. Of course, it's not like I could give a crap about Palpatine anyways. I know if it was my list, an SW figure wouldn't have been #1 (though many would have made it).
Glad to see at least one Power Ranger made the list, though I wouldn't have picked Green. Green just fails when compared to both Super Legends and his shoulder movement is limited compared to the other Rangers. At least he's much better than poor Goldar. I would've put either a tie with Pink and Yellow for looking like women for once (boobies! :P) or the Putty for being very accurate and finally giving the US Thunder Slingers. Ages of Action rocks! I got the Ninja and Samurai and love them. I wish all the site weren't charging triple or more for the Centurion. I'd really like to have him. Also, I agree on the CS SE. Only thing about him that's remotly new is the placment of his sword sheath. Otherwise, I think he's subpar. Plus, I hate the angle of his neck. Best SE is the DVD Battles, imo (though that's from 2008).

On Palpitine, Yeah the head is ugly, just like it is in ESB, and that is what I like about it. Quote:

But to be fair I never said he was subpar, I don't think he is, I really believe if I didn't have 30+ versions already (In fact I just dumped off an even dozen) that I would be more up on this version. The sheath actually bugs me in its placement as it is apt to get caught in that position too. But he is ok IMO, but not super-duper-uber. Since we are on the subject, my personal fav is V3, I am positive the big knives on the chest came from American Ninja and I just thought that was a cool reference. I hated what 25th did with the goggles in his head though. I thought that was stupid as it wasn't on the original figure. I also hated the repaints of that mold (A couple had a huge GI JOE on the leg that just looked corny IMO). |
