When I first saw the 6 inch versions of these figures, I totally dismissed them. However earlier this week I saw the 3 inch versions on clearance and decided to check them out. I pretty much bought them all, so I'm going to be looking at them in a couple of different reviews.
Up first is Kamen Rider Blank Knight and Kamen Rider Camo. It's a two for one. Are these guys worth a $2 price tag? Check out the full review ahead! Infinite Hollywood: Kamen Rider Wave 1 Part 1 Review Thanks for reading. |

First, their 4", not 3". That makes a big difference when talking scale. Of course, Joes are even taller, but that's a whole other thing.
Blank Knight is barely used in the show and I'm told he does only have a cut neck. Not sure on Camo. However, all the ones I own have pretty good ball joints that work on the new Power Rangers line and Joes as well. Camo's weapon is indeed a yo-yo. It represents his chameleon Advent Beast's tongue. Every weapon is a body parts from their Advent Beast. Most didn't get made in this line. Also, Blank Knight's sword is all gray in the show (plus, it broke in less than 5 seconds), so it doesn't need paint. Neither use any other weapons in the show as these are 2 of the least used Riders. Others are lacking weapons, but these have all there is (then again, Bandai makes up stuff all the time). The Cards are for the role playing toys. It's quite common for the pack ins to not have anything to do with the toy it comes with. I consider cards to be better than things like coins, but they are still pretty dumb (those Avatar Itags take the cake for crap pack-ins though). If you hate card pack ins, their you're going to hate the new Spider-Man, IronMan, and Star Wars (next package change). I hate card gimmicks in shows too. However, they are only a command device so the Riders can tell their Advent Beasts what to do. Rarely does the story even mention they have cards. Admittedly, I wouldn't have used cards, but at least the whole show isn't centered on them. The show is centered more on manipulation, which you don't see often in a show made for kids. If you want a decent figure from this line, Get Wing Knight and the Black Wing (the bat Advent Beast) with Len set. It's the best the line offers. Wing Knight uses most of the holes in conjunction with Black Wing. Black Wing becomes wings for Wing Knight. He also has Wing Knight's bigger sword. In addition, the wings fold into a shield like Gundam Deathscythe Hell's wings. Len is a crap figure, but I think of him as bonus civilian figure. Finally, when this show was new in Japan, they made figures that are far better than these and I believe they were joe scale too (though I've never seen proof of their scale). Hell, they just released new versions of Dragon and Wing Knight in a 5"-6" scale that are about $12. That said, I agree with you overall. The original price killed the line. I plan to get some more of the line on clearance because I liked the show and want some of the characters. I just wish they made Siren, the female Rider. If you're any kind of Power Rangers fan, go get the new Joe scale ones. They have much better articulation compared to these. In a nutshell, this image sums it up.
