Part of me wishes they looked similar to MU and Joes, so they can occupy the same shelf space without looking out of place, but the other part of me loves how cartoony they look. As for Batman, the new Batman for PE is probably as good as it going to get.
Agreed. They've already done a bunch of the heavies. Since they have, I think they should just release a wave of all the big ones they already released - just with new articulation. (especially the ones where previously you could only get them in 6 packs). eg: Superman, Batman, John Stewart, Flash, Lex, etc. Just get it over with, you know? Or provide it on Mattycollector as a special release for us collectors who would swoop in and buy a case or two, kind of like the Cobra Island 7 packs. I'm sure they'd sell out quickly. |

Here's a quick comparison of the old sculpt vs the new sculpt and articulation. First two are from the original DCIH releases, third is Gotham Batman (which I personally really like) and finally the new PE Batman with all new articulation.

You know whats crazy is ...seeing them side by side ...as much as articulation matters to me those first 2 DCIH Batman figures look pretty good. I own the PE Batman, love it and think its the best but ..suddenly i can see why some people who dont care about actually doing anything with their toys would be content with the previous incarnation. Id never buy them but they do at least look good. Seeing your pics makes me appreciate my PE Batman that much more. I cant wait for this line to expand with the Version 3 bodies. |

I purchased a Superman from this line last year and have not purchased any since. The articulation was very bad compared to the MU figures.

I'd probably love a PE Bats in the Blue and Grey. I was still buying them when the first Bats came out. After I got him and Joker I realised, I couldn't do really any fighting scenes with both of them that didn't look like Rock em Sock em Robots. That's when I stopped collecting this line

while I'm thinking about it what is up with the lip wrist the DC figures are having with this new sculpt? Still they don't have the monkey hands like they did but the right hands all look like crap.

Yeah, I don't know why they did it like that. I prefer regular closed fists. Most of these guys don't have accessories, nor do they need them. The whole angled limp hand thing is just weird.

I own exactly two of these figures. The first Batman released, and Captain Marvel. I snuck CM in my Marvel Universe collection but he sticks out like a sore thumb. I want to like these figures, I love a lot of the characters, but I just can't. I don't even know if it's the sculpts. I mean, I love my Super Powers collection.
