I think the figure that game up at the same time as the game was rushed. The earlier version was not as bad.
I have returned three ODSTs. One had broken shoulder pieces and the other two had broken wrists. The problem is the middle piece in the wrist hinge - it is far too thin. I thought it was a stray scrap of plastic at first. I am pleased with #4 - it is fine and I've had no issues with it. The BIG benefit to this figure is the gun, which is awesome. I have one or two more of these still in package if anyone's interested.

All of these figures and vehicles are garabage from this line.. I dont typically open my figures.. but I REALLY wanted to open the mongoose - so I bought 3 of them and an extra master cheif to ride shotgun with a rocket launcher..
mongoose had 2 parts break off before getting it out of the box.. the MC figure cant even properly hold the rocket launcher... This line is ass :( |

Overall, I've been pleased with most of mine. The Master Chief figures have had no problems at all. The Brutes' articulation isn't great and the Jackal can't stand up easily but overall the Halo ones are pretty good.

What were you doing playing with a McFarlane Statue anyway?

Picked up a HALO: ODST "The Rookie" figure.
Seriously, the worst figure I have ever owned. By faaaar. This is the first figure I have ever gotten that when I opened it up it broke with the slightest touch. Both his hands broke off at the wrist. If you've seen how the wrists sockets are designed, you'd laugh your ass off. It's like they are MADE TO BE BROKEN. Plus, his "Kung-Fu" grip bicep simply fell out of it's socket. And all the other articulated parts really are cemented in to place by the paint apps. I have HEARD OF problems with Halo figures, mainly the Spartans, but I have had no probs with any of them since I have been buying them. This ODST figure is terrible, absolute garbage. He's the worst figure I have ever owned.

I can trump you all- the Masterpiece Shadow Alpha from Toynami. The thing is so flimsy and cheap in terms of the quality of plastic that it broke on the shoulder like a knockoff would (so bad that the figure following it was recalled). The only difference is that I would never pay $150 for a knockoff....

bought a master chief when the halo 3 figs started coming out. Hand broke off as soon as I took it out of the package.
Totally turned me off to the line. I thought about giving them another chance with ODST coming out. Usually figure lines will improve with age, but I guess not. So, thanks for the heads up. I'm not gonna be giving the Halo figures a second chance. Sux too, cuz they look so cool. .. Eh, does McFarlane even care??

Ya know, I hear people here bitching about Hasbro every once-and-a-while, but I gotta say, breakage is extremely rare with Hasbro.
One of my first comic-packs, the Fred/Scarface pack, had a Fred with a stuck shoulder peg. Now keep in mind, this was a bit before I found Hisstank and knew about boiling and freezing, so all I could do was apply naked force. The arm actually bent about 180 degrees before the pin finally broke. Now you gotta admit, that is some damn tough plastic for such a small part. Despite dozens of stucks joints since then, I've only ever had one other figure (an arctic SE with a completely fused elbow) break on me. You gotta admit, Hasbro ain't too bad when you think about it. |

I bought an ODST Figure, luckily I'm not an opener, so he looks JUUUUUST Fine in his Clamshell...Nice Detail all over the place, especially when I compare the figure to the Uniformed Soldiers in the AWESOME Commercial.
