I own all the Japanese and US seekers released so far, and I prefer the QC and paint apps, not to mention plastic quality, on the Japanese versions. With that said, I still bought the US Starscream for the proper colors, and both Skywarp and Starscream for the painted wing stripes and faction markings.
I despise stickers if they go across sculpted lines, as they do on the Takara versions. They look bad and tend to peel. Although I like the colors better on the US Starscream, the paint apps are done better on the Japanese versions, and I prefer the Japanese attention to detail too, such as the painted missiles in the chest launchers/vents. I find it cheap that Hasbro didn't use the same head as the Takara Skywarp, and instead just repainted the Starscream mold 100%. Although the Takara Dr. Arkeville looks stupid molded in the jet plastic and not fully painted. (At least that's how it was with the original Starscream.) As for Megatron, I simply got the add-on kit and it improves his stability a thousand-fold. Not to mention it has the stock, which is totally badass. I feel that his legs are no more out of proportion than the Seekers when their wings are attatched at the hip and not on the lower legs (lower looks better, but it's almost impossible to make them stand like that). Oh and finally the US seekers have their names tampographed onto their stands, which looks waaay better than the Japanese stickers. Last edited by Mandingo Rex; 01-26-2010 at 12:55 PM.. |

See this reminded me of Superman wearing that chain that Lex Luthor made for him in the 1st movie.

Yeah I'm the same, some of the cost is crazy as it is and I don't need the trailer. Besides mine pretty much stays transformed all the time. Displays better as PRIME then as a diesel....I don't collect Hot Wheels!

Ah thank you. Bumblebee and Starscream... Didn't the version with the trailer have different characters?
As for the costs. I agree they're steep, but then, I don't buy an other TFs available anymore either. Just MPs [and a stray device label] for me anymore. Though I might look into the Universe Overkill later on. |

On the black MP Convoy that was just released, I believe it had Megatron and Rodimus on them. I can't guarantee for sure because the only MP releases I haven't owned are the white and black Prime repaints. Personally I wish they would end the G1 MP series with Galvatron and Rodimus, while doing the earlier big guys like Soundwave and Shockwave, and a few larger, more prominent, Autobots before going with the two leaders that to me represent a different chapter in the original series. |

Yeah, my Black Convoy has Prime and Hot Rod [Rodimus]. Galvatron would be sweet and fairly straight forward.
You know, that little Arkeville puts the Seekers into perspective with the rest of the TFs. Those guys should be Massive. |
