I don't really think that kind of line is in Hasbro's wheelhouse. With action figures they seem to focus on lines with supporting media..movies, comics, cartoons, what have you...and it it's going to get supporting media it's probably NOT going to be "real life military."
I also agree that, in Hasbro's view it'd cut into their own GI Joe market. No sense trying to compete with yourself.

I'm sure that in one of the previous Hasbro Q&As, possibly from JoeCustoms.com, Hasbro replied along the lines of not wanting to go into the "realistic military" thing. I agree and don't think they should go in that direction. Keeping it firmly in the "military fantasy with sci-fi" is what sets them apart from other manufacturers out there, and enables them to draw on a wider range of influences, which, I think, makes these types of figures more interesting to collect.

Exactly, without gaining a license from something huge like CoD or big movie franchise that already has a built in fan base that doesn't include the main Joe demographic there would be absolutely no way Hasbro would touch it. You really can't blame them. Any other way would be too much of a risk.

I completely agree, as a fan of the early CoD's, WaW, and the Modern Warfares I think if Hasbro could pitch it right, and land the license they could do a really good job on it, and make both the CoD franchise, and themselves alot of money. However, as hot as CoD is right now, they would probably want alot for that license, and I don't see Hasbro doing it. It would be the ideal scenario if it were to happen, but I just don't see it in the cards.

IF other companies would simply add ball jointed (or the equivalent) hips & swivel biceps we wouldnt be having this conversation in my opinion. We'd, in essence , have a legitimate option to military product from Hasbro. When companies like BBi and Lanard give us T-crotches it seems like we have no other options other than Hasbro.
Thats always been the dividing line for me. If you have the prerequisite articulation to pass the test your bought. As lackluster as the PTE figure sculpts are ive even bought those as they had the minimal amount of articulation points. |

They kinda are going in that direction, the latest Jungle assault ripcord is pretty freaking realistic.
