This is bar far one of my favorite top ten movies. It is such a love letter to all the old pulp hero stuff of the 30's. The thing I think I like the most is that it was really a low budget indie film with the creator director making everything behind it all the way.
An it ends up with an all star cast and in major theaters. That's just cool. By the way as far as the cheese acting goes. Please go back and watch films from the 30's and 40's you'll see the same acting. They did it this way to give you the feel of the old films. |

This was the Saturday movie on TV today. I saw it coming on after the cartoons were wrapping up.

I've never seen the movie, a few of my friends love it, others hate it(like my friends who majored in animation). They basically told me that initially, the movie started out as a 10 minute long film made by a student, then got made into a feature film. They told me that basically it was stretched to thin, that kind of thing.
Trailers looked interesting, I hear it's good if you don't take it too seriously. If anything I hope it's entertaining. I mean who else would take on robots in a freaking P-40 Warhawk? That's bad ass. |

That's bad ass. It's not Blade Running but it also does not try to be. It's a total genre film so you either get it or you don't. But if you like the Shadow or The Rocketeer you're gonna love this. |

21st Century Toys made a 1/18 P-40 Warhawk with Sky Captain figure a few years back.
EDIT, link here: 1/18 Sky Captain P-40B Warhawk You are a plastic master man. Great movie, btw. Dragged my girl to it on my birthday, we snuck in 40's (I was fresh outta college, what can I say), and she dropped hers and it rolled all the way down between the seats from the back to the front going clack-clack and spilling beer the whole way. Fortunately, we got to share the one remaining which cut down on bathroom breaks making the movie very enjoyable. Hurray!
