Joes also release way more figures and have higher production runs, the reuse of parts makes more sense.
I'm sorry, but if you're going to do one a month and charge that much for 'em, they better be all original. Yes, I get that the vintage aren't original, but that's no justification for keeping the price as high as it is.

How is MOTUC supposed to have a high production runs with figures that have failed in the past if there is not SOME reuse of parts to make a profit so that it can expand (just as I explained in previous reply post to yours)? And IT IS expanding because more all-new scuplts are coming. I'm sorry, but if you're going to do one a month and charge that much for 'em, they better be all original. Again, as I explained in previous reply post to yours, HOW is that too much when you are using 3/4 more plastic and in some cases at least half new parts? AGAIN, Joes have cost $8.00 before and are a fourth of the size if not less than that. Yes, I get that the vintage aren't original, but that's no justification for keeping the price as high as it is. Also, to justify the reuse of parts and to be able to offer the line at all (SINCE THE 2002 LINE FAILED), they are doing what the 80's line did which was reuse parts so that they can increase production runs (WHICH THEY HAVE THREE TIMES) so that they can create all-new sculpts which are coming. And another point, fans are nostalgic for the figures they had when they were kids and these figures do that the same way that the 25th should have done with all their figures. True, you get some of that. But where are the Hasbro reps who post on this board to clear up arguments/speculation?
Also, more people listen to this guy and believe in this guy's words, overall, since he is delivering. He is just not saying, "not at this time." On occasion, yes, but when he gives specifics, they come through. And if not, 90 percent of the time there is a reason he will personally come to the He-Man site and explain. I do like the idea of a Hasbro rep coming to the site and setting records straight. I remember Transfans had someone like that years ago |

I agree that they are pricey for the amount of kitbashing involved, although it is true to the originals, but I probably wouldnt feek that way if I could afford them.
The Horseman do some great stuff, and there is a lot of love and fan servicd herr. Wun-Dar? Comes with a loaf of bread? Trap-Jaw with pre-cyborg parts? Wow. So nerdy and cool. I think the 200X Ram Man was probably good enough to fit with this line. If Evil-Lyn doesnt get her own sculpt, he doesnt stand much of a chance. |

The points you defend about the MOTU line you are downing about the 25th line. You are mad that Hasbro reuses parts but you are saying it is necessary for mattel to do it for production reasons.Do you not see the contradiction. We get it you friggin love these things. I think they are stupid looking remakes of one of the worst excuses for a toyline that ever was produced.

Wow, why did this become a "Joe is better than MOTU " or vice versa? I like both lines, currently I'm digging on MOTUC more than Joe, but so what? Why do people have to tear down other people's preferences, either which way?
BTW, I really like the Zodak figure. That's my opinion. Anyone want to attack it? |

BTW, I really like the Zodak figure. That's my opinion. Anyone want to attack it? There's a lot of hate out there now, dunno why. Should be an unwritten rule on any forum "if you don't have anything positive to contribute, then don't". Just make an own "I hate MOTU" thread and complain there, I really doubt that the original poster wanted a debate about costs and re-usage of parts when it starts with "I Friggin' Love These things" Trying to get back on point. I'd love these figures but they are sold out everywhere, and expensive as heck on ebay... Anybody have any good leads to where I could get them? |
