Well I've gotten over buying Gi Joe for now and have been selling off my old vehicles like crazy....and I've been collecting Anime Statues....I've long been an anime fan and heck My Anime Figures outnumber my Gi Joe and all the other stuff I collect.
I've been collecting Gashapons and the DX and EX Sized Figures but recently I've started to collect the statues that always seem to cost a bit and manage to find them on sale. In this month alone I've gotten about 25 Anime Statues....and most of them were on sale...been scoring quite a few of em at $25 easy. Still got to get a few more statues but man...it's expensive to collect em...[$50-$150 for some statues] so I wonder if anyone else collects them? |

Man, if I were single I would. You gotta love the ecchi statues
With my wife around, they'd end up in the trash as fast as I could open them |

Figma figures are the best IMO; I have 4 of them. 2 for Yuki Nagato and 2 for Kagami Hiiragi. But my favorite are Nendoroid Petits; I have 6 of them for Yuki and one regular sized Yuki Nagato Nendoroid.
Rei Ayanami is my fav anime character, but she's kind of old school, so not too many new products for her. They have Revoltech figures for her, but I don't like Revoltech... I only like Figma. I'm a Figma fanboy. LOL. |

I picked up a Rei Ayanami Seasside Statue today off ebay for $25 with free shipping, couldn't pass Rei Up...she's cool.
Yeah I love the Ecchi Statues been buying allot of the G-Taste series Statues and Got a Witchblade Shiori Swimsuit Statue this month off Entertainment Earth they had those on Sale. I mean the amount I'm dishing out on these figures it's like why should I collect Gi Joe Anymore? Just cause it's cheaper but the quality on these figures are just awesome compared to some gi joe stuff. Hell the most I've spent on any of my Figures have been the Macross Frontier Klan Pilot Suit Statue that cost me almost $100 and the Xenosaga Episode III Alter Kos-Mos Swimsuit Statue that also cost me about $100.... I'm more of a Macross Fan for Anime, just that Macross is so damned Expensive to collect I mean it's like $50-$200 for some of the mechas all I got are the cheaper 1/100 Scale Revoltech Style Figures and the Toynami Robotech Alphas figures. Still I love the Anime Statues next year I have plans to get some Ikkitousen Statues....but for the prices on some of these figures I may invest in a new Flat Screen for my PC since I am using an old bulky monitor... |

Not statues, but I have some nice-more detailed Belldandy figures, as well as some of the other Goddesses.

If I had the choice of seeing my fav anime characters all eechi-ed out and smexy looking or all cutely deformed and chibi-fied... tough call, but I would go for the cuteness; I guess that's why I like Nendoroids so much. However... if I ever see this thing: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/toys/6...-psylocke.html I am so buying it. LOL. I saw the Rogue one at a local comic book store and it took all my will power to resist it... won't have enough strength to resist Psylocke though. LOL. Quote:
The thing is I know for a fact that I will ALWAYS love my 25th Joes... I'm not so sure about all the anime crap I have. 10 years from now will I still like displaying all my anime stuff? Too hard to say... Quote:
I regretted not buying the Motoko Kusanagi 2nd GiG version PVC statue for 70 bucks though, now they only have the Solid State Society one left. But other than that I only buy trading figs, gashapon or Figma/Nendoroid/Revoltech stuff. Quote:
I don't have to worry about Ikkitousen because I ONLY buy anime figs from anime I have actually seen. The only exception was I bought a movie version Revoltech Yoko before actually watching Gurren Lagaan, but after finally seeing the anime; I don't like Yoko anymore. LOL. So now I always make sure I watch the anime first. |

Today was the busiest day yet for my Anime Collection.
Picked up some Gundam Gashapons of some of the classic Universal Century Characters [Lalah,Haman, Aina, also had Allenby in it from G-Gundam] Also picked up the Dead Or Alive EX Swimsuit Set of Ayane and Kasumi, Picked up off Amazon.com the Dead Or Alive Xtreme Kokoro Statue, Witchblade Shiori Clone Blade Version, and tonight picked up Gurren Lagaan Yoko Swimsuit Figure [thought about getting the set of Yoko and Nia but really wanted Yoko] Man I had to get rid of a whole frigging shelf worth of Gi Joe Vehicles just to get space for these girls.... I still have plans to get the Alpha X Omega Code Geass R2 Villeta Nu Swimsuit Statue that's out [the one of her in her sexy swimsuit from the school festival] That and the Taimanin Asagi Asagi Igawa statue that's out and once I get those I literally can be done with the high priced Statues. Still going to work on getting the Macross Frontier DX Sheryl Nome Swimsuit Figure that's coming out in a few months along with the Mylene and Minmei Statues that are coming out later this year [gives me enough time to recover from the massive spending of 2009 and to clear my head from all the buying] I do need to get some more Revoltech Macross Figures..... There's just so many out there and literally if you had all the money in the world you still couldn't get them all.... Funny I'm getting rid of my Gi Joe Collection [half of it at least] to finance my Anime Collection that is now just to the point of I got like 9-10 shelves full of Gashapons and DX Figures and Statues. I'm a hopeless anime fanboy.......it's overpowered my urge to collect Gi Joe and any other Hasbro Line...... But starting this year [2010 now] I'm cutting back just the fact of how much I spent on anime this month is insane. Won't be doing this again for a good long while. |
