I pre-ordered DCUC wave 9 from Toyrocket in early October knowing I might not be able to get them. I sent them an email asking what the probability was I'd be getting them and I got an inaudible voice-mail from them. I decided to just wait it out for a bit since they've been trickling out at retail.
I sent another email last week asking "What is the liklihood I will be receiving this item? If I cancel this, will I be charged a restocking fee? Thanks." I got a reply saying "YOUR ORDER WAS CANCELLED AND REFUND WILL BE ISSUED ON MONDAY". There was no explanation, no answer to my original question, no sense of customer service. If they had said to wait a bit, I would have. If they had said it doesn't look good and they can refund my payment, I would have. It seemed like I just irritated them by asking if I was going to get an order for which I'd already paid. Are they normally ok? I don't want to judge them solely on this experience, maybe times are rough for them or something. I like to have a lot of options when I'm shopping for my toys, but if this is pretty par for the course then I'll cross them off my list. |

There was one site that declared bankruptcy a few months back. Was that Toy Rocket?

Additionally, DCUC Wave 9 was shorted as far as the online retailers' orders go. Lots of them took more preorders than Mattel fulfilled.

They are out of their bankruptcy from what I understand. It was a reorganization of debts.
I got a canned response about the order I placed 11/12 saying they are moving to a new facility. |

I got an email last night asking for the paypal email address, so if I don't get a refund by thursday I'll shoot them another email.
Either way, is the general consensus that they're usually a pretty good company? |

They have gone 3 weeks without sending an ebay win of mine. No reply to emails.

I think the general consensus is mixed. They did go through a bankruptcy, but I did get my ordered items eventually. It was for the Stinger and FLAK/CLAW sets. It did take a while though even when other sites like BBTS seemed to be in stock and shipping.
