I can not help but bicker and banter what do you morons (Hasbro team) think you are trying to create with useless toys like this here. It just a waste of good money on making these figures so we can see them at the bottom of a rubbermaid box selling for 25 cents. What a waste. Action battlers...who cares ! Kids will want the cooler versions anyway! What the heck.

Transformers seem to be loaded with "action moves", some good and some bad. I agree with you on the Fast Action Battlers. I just don't see why people like them, but thats just me and you I guess. Don't forget the Sound Attack weapons that came with late G.I Joe vs. Cobra and early Spy Troops figures (although they aren't action moves). I really don't like a lot of the gimmick stuff in G.I. Joe and some in Transformers.

I see what you guys mean. Growing up, by the time I was 10 I started to hate action features, and gravitate more towards more articulation. I can see how younger kids can overlook action features that take away from articulation, but as they grow older, they might start loathing it and want more articulation, like I did. The ones that had less gimmick, and more articulation were the "timeless" ones, the ones I still look back on today, and am proud of owning. For example toybiz' super articulated spiderman from 1995.
Also a good example is ninja force Storm Shadow; quite possibly the best costume design for Storm Shadow, but not the best figure. The spring loaded action attack not only decimated waist movement, but made his head too high, and eliminated any hole on his back for backpacks or scabbard. As much as I loved the design and figure when I was younger, once I was 16 I realized how the costume was still awesome, but the figure was lacking. Also the first VSV Storm Shadow with action attack. Then the numerous star wars figures from ROTS, how we could not get a unhindered Anakin unless we bought the evolutions pack. Till this day I keep hoping that ninja force costume has some justice done towards it in the form of an anniversary figure. |
