Absolutely, and I was buying them well before GI JOE.
They were released by the Airfix company here in the UK, but for some reason the distribution was very poor where I lived. We only ever got Time Travellers and those motorised vehicle sets (which came with a Time Traveller!!). Always liked the clear one best! Never had an Acroyear or Space Glider originally, but followed their exploits in the Marvel stories that were reprinted in (I think) the UK Star Wars weekly comic - That was my first exposure to Mike Golden's beautiful art. I had a few vehicles, including the Battle Cruiser (loved it, and the way the wings became pistols was so cool!) and the Mobile Exploration Lab, but I was always after the Astro Station; something else that never came into stock locally. Never did get one... I have a few of the Japanese ones, but they're way too fragile for me (or I'm just heavy handed!) - I'm afraid to touch them as they feel ready to break straight out of the packet. I was so excited about the reissues from a few years back, but so disappointed by the quality control of them. What a wasted opportunity... :( The Airfix releases were contemporary with the Mego ones I believe, so that's the option I chose.

Acroyear practically lived in my pocket throughout 1st grade (until I offered him up into what I thought was a pretend toy auction for the class and the teacher GAVE HIM AWAY! :(

I only liked certain ones. Mainly the aliens with the glow in the dark brains, Hornetroid, Terraphant & the magnet guys like Force Commander & Baron Karza. I didn't get into the rest much.

You too? I loved Micronauts. Used to get 'em at Two Guys, when I was a kid. I had Hornetroid, Antron, and the Base that would not stay together unless you tied the pieces with string.
Anyone here read the comic from Marvel? |

Micronauts Battle Cruiser was/is the ultimate for me. These toys allowed for customization without talent! LOL

Believe it or not, I've never read the comics, but I loved the toys. I always made up my own stories for them since I never knew the real story ; - )

I remember I used the glowbrain aliens in my Kenner cantina along with Ovion and Imperious Leader (who became a nudist very quickly...soft goods didn't last long in my childish hands) from Battlestar Galactica.
