I am huge fan of the OG series. The box art was some of 80s best.
Soft goods on ladies dont last long in my grown up hands.

Wasn't as keen on the "New Voyages" sequal, although the ending really (and I mean REALLY) upset me. Rather liked the Devil's Due take on the concept - Wish it had lasted longer.

Yep. Like I said, I think it was reprinted in Marvel's Star Wars weekly over here. It was printed in black and white too, so I never really appreciated them until I got the colour 'Special Editions' a few years later.
Wasn't as keen on the "New Voyages" sequal, although the ending really (and I mean REALLY) upset me. Rather liked the Devil's Due take on the concept - Wish it had lasted longer. As far as the ending...The cool thing is that some of the characters were unique to Marvel and were used again a few times. I walked into a comic shop in 1997 and, low-and-behold, an issue of Cable had Rann, Marionette, and Bug on the cover. I know the ending involved a heroic sacrifice on the part of the 'nauts, but those three are doing fine. It was never explained except for a bit of a hand-wave by Rann. The dialogue went something like this (paraphrased): Rann (to Cable): I see you wear an X. May I count you among my allies the X-men? Cable: You can. My name is Cable. (Rann introduces his team. Cable responds) I've read the files on your group. Where's the rest of your team? Rann (hangs head); They're dead. Casualties of war. Bug is even coming back as a member of the new Guardians of the Galaxy. There is some bad news regarding the toyline. In 84, I walked into a Bradlees to see the Micronauts reissued as "The Interchangables", but a rights dispute led to the toys and the ORIGINAL MOLDS (ARRGGH) being destroyed. I heard the company with the rights are real jerks and are known to string along companies that are interested in the Micronauts only to back off later. |

They were more of my older brother's thing, although I found them facinating with their candy-like bodies and vac-metal heads!
Strangely and luckily the only one I had of my own was Acroyear, in the "proper" pinkish color. Got it from the coolest sci-fi toy store ever on South Street in Philly that nobody remembers existed. Someone mentioned Palisade's quality control, and I agree. I got Baron Karza(!) as a gift a few years ago, which was awesome because he came with the horse and my brother had him, and I remembered seeing the horse in the stores at age 3, and I finally got to combine them! Well, I did, but there were no instructions explaining the tons of other parts that came in the set. I know it was supposed to be modular, Lego fun, but I still don't know if or where some of the pieces connect. As a bonus, Baron had 2 left hands. And no right hand. And I think the launched springs were removed for US safety? My brother got me a regular Palisades guy. He seemed a little cheap, but pretty accurate. Anyway...got to go with Microman on this one. For the past 10 years or so, they've had some really cool new stuff, some retro, some all new. I like my 3 3/4 Batman and Batgirl! Plus, Microman evolved from G.I.Joe in Japan and gave birth to Transformers, and I find that cool. |

I loved the original stuff back when I was a kid (just prior to SW), but what really excited me was the new line that was shown a few years ago at ToyFair but never materialized. The redesigned Space Glider and Baron Karza were phenomenol.
On a side note, I've been toying around with a few figures based on the great Marvel Comics designs including Huntarr, Acroyear, Princess Mari, Bugg, and Commander Rann. These will be bashed on the modern style Joe figure as a base. |

The flat rubbery missles threw me off too, but they were a new addition for safety apparantly. |

Micro Man Batman & Batgirl is Awesome, I just scored one! Now I need the Micro Man Superman and the Micro Man Predators are BAD ASS! Are the Predator figures Micro Man or Hot Toys 4 Inch?????? There were a few missteps, and perhaps too many variants, but those guys put a lot of love into their toys, including this line and the Muppete, so they'll be missed. I thought I heard that they sculpted some of the Micronauts stuff from scratch since the molds were gone. Actually, that whole time period had several "reissues" of classic lines. Tron figures, He-Man, Transformers, the first Happy Days Mego style dolls, even Joes...kinda, in those comic packs. Nowadays I seems more about reinvention of the classics. I don't know about Predator, but my heart broke when I read that the Microman Spider-man had been cancelled. The Gatchaman ones looked cool though. |

Some of the new Microman Acroyear figures are truly beautiful designs, but they're only ones I bought. Bit hard to get hold of here.
