I have that exact My Pet Monster perched on my dresser next to a purple lava lamp! He was one of my favorite childhood playthings. I even took him with me to college, acting as my apartment's mascot/ staunch wooly guardian of the book shelf. The one your thinking of is "Wogster" & was made by American Greetings. Mine's about a foot tall sitting on all fours. Sometimes old toys seem ginormous in retrospect like that but there could be a bigger one out there I'm not aware of.
Hope that helps, best wishes in your search;) |

Wow, MPM is back at TRU, thanks for that tidbit, 5ycthe. Now I wont be so sketched out if I see'em, LOL!
Thanks for the Boglins name, Shogi! That woulda ticked me off all night and yes, Max ROCKED! The playsets were cool too, even though they were pocketsized. Ready for another flashback? Check it: http://www.nemesisworld.com/starcom/index.html |

Did any of you fellas see the My Pet Monster movie? It was either a midget or a kid (probably the former) in the suit, running around and causing shenanigans, from what I can recall. I actually owned it on Betamax. . .never had the doll, though :(
When I want to wax nostalgic, I look no further than here: http://www.retrojunk.com/content/com....php?view=list Interestingly enough, look what I found: http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/3362/ I guess My Pet Monster turned into a child. . .don't remember that at all, though I do vaguely recall that Nintendo-esque opening. |

I loved this thing when I was a kid, but never had it, sadly. It was so cool that his chains could break and stuff.
Does anyone else remember having tents that you would put on your bed? And they were like Joe, Pound Puppies, Transformers, etc. |

I miss Steel Monsters! (for those who don't remember these were Tonka vehicles with a "Mad Max" look).

HECK YEAH! I was just talking about the Animal at work the other day!!! With all the snow we get here, I said to a buddy "Don't you wish we had Animal 4x4's so we didn't have to worry about 2' of snow?" What's funny is we both starting singing the freakin' commerical. Mind you, we're in an uber tight ass corporate environment...so yeah, that didn't go over too well, but it was all sorts of funny |
