I don?t collect Marvel Legends so I wasn?t tracking the ML Maximum Series that dropped today with Spidey.

What do you think of this concept for Hasbro?

I can?t tell if this is a way to get more of the pie from companies like S7 or not.

For me, as much as I like lots of accessories, like S7 releases, most of them are taken out of the package and then spend the rest of their life in a clamshell.

I love Classified but I?m not sure I would buy a Joe Maximum line at a $50 price point with more accessories.

an excuse for hasbro to inflate prices on more 6" toys.

which doesnt effect me at all in the 6" toys regard, but does if hasbro decides how to effect 4" lines because of it.

The price is outside what I'm willing to spend for an action figure - but - if Hasbro were to take its top 25-50 best-selling action figures of all time from any line - that they can still manufacture - and reproduce them in the highly-articulated Maximum concept, it could be a cool series. But, the web pieces and a dopey grinning Peter Parker head aren't enticing to me.

I wouldn't buy from a Joe Maximum line at a $50 per figure, but I don't know enough to have an opinion about if this is a good idea for Hasbro in general or not. It may be fine if their market is already majority adults with large, inflation-proof, disposable incomes. Fifty bucks a figure is too much for me, but even Classified at $25 per makes me pause now.

My thoughts are very simple……HASBRO IS SMOK8BG ULTRA CRACK. This is just an excuse for hasbro to give us the same shit but slap some new packaging on it and space out the stuff. Im not drinking the hasbro kool aid this time.

I pre-ordered it. I want to see what it's like and how it compares to Mafex and Amazing Yamaguchi.

Hasbro has clearly accepted that action figures are an adult product and, as such, they have to try to enter into the “premium” adult collector product even if it is only marginally premium. The consumer will decide whether they want Hasbro for premium toys or not.

My suspicion is there is not much of a market for lower premium; fans either want premium product and will pay for it, or prefer standard retail product price points.

The images of the unmasked Parker head look like crap.

The webs are not all of the webs that are currently available. The shot of spunk on a stand looks ridiculous.

Having all the Spidey hands is good but Hasbro has done multiple hands in the past when the price was less than $20.

I do want a super articulated Spiderman. From the pictures it looks like that is the case.

Based on Spiderman sales in the past and the after market cost for those that I have missed I preordered it...So I am contributing to the Hasbro Price Increase Problem.

But for $50 the joints and paint will need to be absolutely perfect.

I am on the verge of returning to Captain America only anyway. If Hasbro screws this up my dropping of the M.L. line will be even faster.

Have to wonder if the new prices is factoring in import tariffs also?

The best thing is that the figure is not an exclusive at Target or Walmart.

It just seems like ebay prices right off the bat.

Outside of the unmasked Peter head, it looks really good. And I do love me some McFarlane era Spider-Man.

Buuuuut I got out of 6 inch before covid. This would have to be absolutely perfect out of the box to get me back in.

I ordered it, though I feel bad about doing so.

It is obviously a play on Hasbro’s part to cut into the Mafex/other company whose name I cannot remember now market. I do feel like this one is overpriced and ordered it from Amazon hoping there would be a price reduction. That it is sold out there and on Pulse makes me think maybe this will sell better than I had suspected. I may talk myself out of this by May 1st.

My bias may play a huge part in this too. I was an ardent Marvel Universe fan and was livid when that line ended. I vowed not to support Marvel Legends except to buy the figures on discount (a policy I waive red on with mutants). Outside of X-characters, I have managed to only buy when they are about $10.

I now have several hundred that I have grabbed at that price and as of late have found myself browsing and buying a little more.

$50 is really pricey when I normally pay $10 or so.
