Sure you have those that'll throw cash at Hasbro irregardless of price. We saw some of that with the EoV. But I don't think most folks are saying this is "a good buy at $50." I'm willing to bet that most of those, myself included, held their nose while clicking the preorder button on this.

When I first saw the price point, I thought it was a joke. They were wise to make the first one spider man, because he's a hot seller. Any other characters, and they might struggle to move them. So much of hasbros product ends up on heavy discount, I wouldn't drop $50 on one of these.

Reminds of those star wars photo real figures they did a few years back. Initially priced at like $60ish, I got them at ollies for like $15.

And pay full price for? Iron man. But only one of the movie suits (not a comic version), and only is they can give it a metallic look. So many of the Hasbro iron man figures have a cheap plastic look to them, meanwhile the Bandai, Hot Toys, three zero, ZD Toys versions all look like metal.

I think the version they just did with the two pack with Bushwhacker is really nice and I don't see them touching Punisher for a few years.

It's a really great Punisher and probably the best they've done.

I just got that one and agree.

I know I will look foolish years from now when I have 20, but I truly do not know that there are many more I need (Hulk notwithstanding). I have versions of pretty much all of the big characters, and I cannot think of too many accessories that would move the needle for me a great deal. I have a billion Wolverines. I have a good Cap or three (one with a werewolf head). I do not think I have a Silver Surfer, but I cannot envision $25 worth of needed accessories.

Incidentally, a mavel(ous) website is reporting/speculating that Deadpool will be the next release after the Hulk. Having just opened the Wolverine movie one tonight and possessing at least one other, this is another character I cannot see myself purchasing or seeing such a considerable improvement that I feel the need to spend $50 (the one I fiddled with tonight is very nice).
