I'm always curious about new entrants to 1:18 figures. I gather these are the first figures for Creative Beast Studio. Looking at owner David Silva's bio, his background is in sculpting and toy design. He's worked with/for McFarlane Toys, Hasbro and NECA.
So, I'm guessing he's designed the figures himself? Or maybe not. I see the credits with three other designers and nine sculptors. Some of the names ring a bell, notably Boss Fight's Fred Aczon. On the factory side, do we know if they produce any other 1:18 lines? Am not doubting his bonafides, but I'm just curious as to any pedigree on these figures and if we can divine what other lines they might resemble in their construction and/or finish. Thinking I'm all in on this one. It's like Dino Riders today. ;-)

Aczon is near-certainly the guy in charge of making the Riders good figures. Dave himself has nailed the critter side so the *maybe* there's an inexperience issue with the mechanical armor side of things; but I'm not feeling any real doubt on that front.
I dropped the DragonSlayer armor from my Pledge as it's gonna be too big for my pre-existing Raptors. I may get it on the back end if we see it can fit a JW IndoRaptor or the like. I very much dig that it turns into a hovertank but don't need to get an entire Allosaurus just to justify buying it. I'm gonna go ask if there are any plans for add-on armor for the li'l bitty 18th Raptors and Protoceratops. |

It's a quality over quantity argument. Some of us prefer saving our money for truly great toys while others will load up on the latest subpar offerings from Hasbro and Mattel. Plus, most of us have known this was coming for a year or more and used that time to save up. Quote:

The Razorhound armor should be a decent fit on the previous 1/6 scale Raptor series. The Achillobator and Utahraptor are both around 15" long while most 1/6th raptors are about 12" long. Currently I grabbed the Launch Pack, plus an extra hover tank and smilodon. If the Achillobator set unlocks I'll add that plus two razorhounds. |

Wow, "fuck you money" has really plummeted in terms of value. I used to think "Fuck you money" was the amount that made it possible to walk off a job and maintain the household for 12 months or more. Now apparently "Fuck you money" is $232 (the average amount spent by backers).

Plus, most of us have known this was coming for a year or more and used that time to save up. How did you find his bio while missing the huge inventory of toys for sale in his shop? Cyberzoic is his 4th campaign, and the 3 previous campaigns were all succesful. The raptors raised $350k, the certopsians raised $270k, and the T-Rexes $598k. Most of the T-rex stuff has been delivered, though the final batch of figures is still in transit. https://creative-beast.com/shop/ also on BBTS https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Search?Company=733 Product reviews https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis..._ZN9slEadaTIYS That would put a T-rex at 40" long.
