I see quite a few custom uses...
But I'm not a vehicle guy, and that damn dropship is awesome. Looks like a hybrid of the new Dragonhawk and the Skyhawk. It's funny that the military guys look more like what I wanted out of GI Joe uniform design, and this film is far more sci-fi. Granted they have mech suits too, but they look more believable to me. |

This is a link to some images of the new AVATAR movie figures and vehicles.
Most are 3 3/4 scale with the Masters line being around 6-7 inch scale. These should be out around Christmas. We'll be pre-ordering these soon. I couldn't be any less interested in this movie or the toys. at what point does a movie cease to be live action and become an animated movie, because like the Star Wars prequels, I believe Avatar is the latter disguised as the former.

Thanks for posting them. I like the gunship and the mech suit ones. I'd love to see how they turn out.

Thanks for the post of the link. They look interesting, I might be able to use a few of these for customs, especially the humans.
Maybe some of the vehicles would work as Cobra Customs too.

I think they look wicked cool. I'll most likely get all the human figures, depending on the cost.

I'll definitely pick up at least one mech, since it's awesome and 1:18.

Glad ya'll like it, gald I could help.
The gunship is my favorite and the Sigourney Weaver figure would make for a nice Aliens custom. I could see the gunship as a custom Cobra FANG or even a smaller version of the Dragon Hawk. As soon as pre-orders come in I'll let you know what the price point may be on them. We have to break down the cost from the case costs. |

I like the vehicles a lot. Especially the Helicopter.
The figures aren't very good though. I just don't understand why Mattel continues to use that style of hip joint. It looks terrible, it's flimsy, and it doesn't look anything like a human hip. That joint is a big reason I never got into the 6" DC figures. I mean, Toy Biz tried that joint with one series of ML figures years ago and realized it didn't work. What's taking Mattel so long? Also: Dr Grace Augustine Figure From "Avatar" on Flickr - Photo Sharing! That's just terrible. |
