Not sure what happened there. Dolph either said "no" outright, which would be weird, since they were trotting him out all the time to celebrate He-Man's 40th anniversary last year, or he just wanted more money than they felt like paying, which seems like the more likely situation.

I guess Mattel felt the cost of the likeness would raise the cost of the figure too high.

To be fair, though... the He-Man only looks bad in the head sculpt. The rest of the figure looks really good and is nicely detailed.
