Nah, man, a genuine psychopath is hell to work with. Even "just" a sociopath is a rotten day. A person with no conscience or scruples or empathy is a real fucking drag to be around and it wears on you. You never know when they're gonna try to throw you under the bus or sabotage you in some way. They literally don't care about the people around them. You have to be on guard always, and spend just as much time covering your ass/making your work psycho proof than you do actually working. Some employers love them because they're great salespeople, but all the other detrimental shit they cause in the workplace far outweighs that.
Idiots, on the hand, well all you gotta worry about there is looking out for their mistakes and getting annoyed at having to explain the same damn thing ten times. Worst case scenario: an idiot psychopath. They're rare in the workforce though because they can't fake it long enough to get hired.

McDERMOTT: Hey. Allen! Congratulations on the Hisstank account.
ALLEN: Thank you, Baxter. BRYCE: Listen, Paul. Toy hunt? ALLEN: Call me. Hands him a carded Walmart retro Duke BRYCE: How about Friday? ALLEN: No can do. Got a res at eight-thirty at Target. Great Python Patrol cobras. There is a stunned silence as he walks away and sits in a corner of the room, ostentatiously studying figure checklists. CLOSE-UP on Bateman's face, cold with hatred. BRYCE (whispering): Jesus. Target? On a Friday night? How'd he swing that? McDERMOTT (whispering): I think he's lying. Bateman takes out his wallet and pulls out a carded Retro Collection O-ring Duke BRYCE (suddenly enthused): What's that, an O-ring? BATEMAN: New retro figure. What do you think? McDermott lifts it up and examines the cardback carefully. McDERMOTT: Whoa. Very nice. Take a look. He hands it to Van Patten. BATEMAN: Picked them up from Pulse yesterday. VAN PATTEN: Good coloring. BATEMAN: That's vintage styled. And the logo includes A Real America Hero on it. McDERMOTT (envious): The ARAH tagline? VAN PATTEN: It is very cool, Bateman. But that's nothing. [He pulls a carded 1991 Duke out of his wallet and slaps it on the table.] VAN PATTEN: Look at this. They all lean forward to inspect it. BRYCE: That's really nice. Bateman clenches his fists beneath the table, trying to control his anxiety. VAN PATTEN: 8.6 condition with an unpunched hanger. (Turning to Bateman) What do you think? BATEMAN (barely able to breathe, his voice a croak): Nice. BRYCE (holding the figure up to the light): Jesus. This is really super. How'd a nitwit like you get so tasteful? Bateman stares at his own carded Joe and then enviously at McDermott's. BATEMAN (V.O.): I can't believe that Price prefers McDermott's card to mine. Bryce: But wait. You ain't seen nothin' yet. He holds up his own carded Joe. BRYCE: Spring launcher, desert sand camo... BATEMAN (choking with anxiety): Impressive. Very nice. Let's see Paul Allen?s card. Bryce pulls a carded Joe in a clear case from an inside coat pocket and holds it up for their inspection: "AFA GRADED 9.8 CONDITION 1984 DUKE (v1)." Bateman swallows, speechless. The sound in the room dies down and all we hear is a faint heartbeat as Bateman stares at the magnificent card. BATEMAN (V.O.): Look at that subtle tan coloring. The tasteful retro design of it. Oh my God, it even has a mail in sticker... His hand shaking, Bateman lifts up the card and stares at it until it fills the screen. He lets it fall. The sound returns to normal. CARRUTHERS: Is something wrong? Patrick...you're sweating. Last edited by Yeet; 12-08-2022 at 08:31 PM.. |

Idiots realize you're smart and start to act different around you.
Psychopaths realize you're smart and who knows what their intentions are to you? Do they see you as a threat? Sociopaths promote idiots who can just barely do their jobs, so they won't be a threat to their positions. |
