True. Probably because it doesn't have a goofy giant turret on it and bullshit snakey stylings. It was just the color combo and general shape that triggered my memory. I hadn't thought about the Night Adder in years.

That XL-15 will make a mighty fine TF x GIJ Cyclonus base.

I wonder how it compares to the Skystriker/Starscream/Jetfire in size. I'm thinking it looks closer to the length of the Conquest (but we all know the only dimension that really matters when "conquesting" is girth).

I'm actually quite impressed with the spread Mattel has put out for the line. Not too long ago, Mattel would have crapped out a couple of different figure scales composed mostly of Buzz variants, Sox and Zurg. To see side characters at all, much less across multiple scales, is really astounding to see. And within that...the final product doesn't look that bad for what it is. The Alpha Class collector stuff is particularly interesting since that looks to be walking on McFarlane's toes a bit. The Hyperspeed series is REALLY scratching that old Starcom/Star Wars Action Fleet vibes for me.

In multiple scales, even! So if you're ordering online, you REALLY need to read the fine print to make sure you're getting the one you want.

Anyway, curse whomever it was above who said that the jet would work with Captain Power customs, because I *do* have a set of those and now I'm going to have to get it. Dagnabbit. |

Picked up the jet the other day at Target.
Buzz lays down, so not sure how he manages the controls. But you can definitely mod it to fit 1/18 figures sitting upright. You could either make it a 2-seater or single seater with a storage area if you remove the pop up play feature.
