you shouldnt have to modify it. you push the tab on the bottom forward all the way to close the sides and then you push the canopy down until it clicks.
my problem is keeping those stupid sides from being lost. after i get some chores done this evening, im supergluing my son's side pieces and cockpit down so they dont get lost again.

Anybody have Zurg's Mothership to give advice whether $27 is worth risking the attempt to bash an 18th cockpit into it?
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Produ...ils/204344?o=4 I personally think it's too small. It doesn't look like a 1:18th ship. It looks like an unpiloted drone sized craft at that size. *3/27/23 Edit: I meant as in you're more likely to just stick the cockpit on the outside than a modification. There's no obvious place in the ship to carve out a cockpit.

i wouldnt waste my time on that. personal experience mutilating more than what's a reasonable amount of vehicles and then eventually throwing them away because they not only do not resemble the original vehicle they dont even resemble anything to do anything with.
i still cringe pretty hard about dremeling my cobra ice sabre with the intent to be a star wars sand skiff. and it took 7 years to bring the two millennium falcons i smashed together to a complete vehicle. it's not meant for 1:18. if you get one for nickels, i'd say go for it but keep low expectations. worse case scenario if it gets wrecked, then it can be chucked without any loss. i had one in my hand last weekend at a resale store for 27 bucks. no way jose. If one were motivated, you could probably scratch in a cockpit in the existing compartment in the one nose (though you'd need to cut it out deeper and wider... hmmm maybe a droid slot in the other side... hmmm ![]() You'd need to remove the battery compartment and speaker and whatnot to put something in the main fuselage area. |

It's a neat ship, but not really worth that price imo. I think I snagged one for less than twenty with no clear idea of what I'd do with it.

Dang! I didn't even know they were making more of them. Got two of the wave but they're already sold out of the other two. Here's hoping there are some cancellations so I can snag the XL-04 and 10 (or that they'll show up on Amazon or something - can't find them listed anywhere else currently).

I think those two items had far less to do with it (outside of the usual echo chambers) than the simple fact that people weren't ready for the meta nature of the film. Friends of mine's kids expected to see Buzz from Toy Story and got something else.
