I dunno. I collect Batmobile toys and dig all the ridiculous ones, but it's also nice to have a more "realistic" one. This one is more in the vein of the Tumbler than Barris' Batmobile, and fits the Batman: Year Two vibe of the film. And they made a version of that Batmobile for 4" figures. It kinda sucks.

I guess. I mean, this is all bullshit anyway and why I appreciate all the Batmobiles. And really, the "muscle car" Batmobile is plenty outlandish from a real world perspective. It's also utterly ridiculous in that the rear engine was designed by someone apparently ignorant of things mechanical. It's like they took a twin-turbocharged piston engine, complete with flame-spewing wastegates, and decided it somehow is also an afterburning jet engine...or some shit. And why the fuck is it exposed to the elements like that? It's all generic aesthetics.

Isn't The Batman's Batmobile based off Batman: Year One or something?

Yeah, it's early Bats. I think it's year two from what I can gather. Like, he's been around long enough to be known and feared, but hasn't faced real crazy yet.

I think Burton's Batman was more Year One in comparison, where he wasn't even considered to be real and whispered about like an urban legend. It sounds like the police (or at least Gordon) already consider him to be an ally and have a Bat-signal in this new one.

As a batmobile this thing ranks right up there with the tumbler in terms of suckage as a batmobile. That being said it WILL make a good wasteland type ride.
