2) He's clearly going for screen-accurate, so even if the 40% thing was true, he hasn't actually made those changes.

I have upscaled a few halo minis to 1:24 (full figure) and 1:18 (heads after being cut out from bodies) and they looks awesome. I didn't print them myself yet but I know who did and they are great. Also upscaled some of those Teccotoys mechs to 1:24 and they also look fine. As I said depends of the model and how detailed and smooth it is. If its not the more you upscale the more you will notice the imperfections or lack of detail.

That looks nice. It's something I'd love to have but ultimately will never get unless I win the lottery and space and money will not be an issue.

I’d love to have it (and Blue Thunder!), but since it seems to be a true 1/18 scale it’s a bit too big (the size of it compared to the Night Raven…crazy!) for me.
Some true 1/18 scale stuff works out with Joe’s, but some stuff is too big thanks to the Joe’s 1/18 scale. |

Another red flag to me, he's using an image of a figure kit from https://vortiouscustomaccessories.ec.../casual-friday at the end of all the pics of the action figures. This seems super sketch.
Edit- Also he doesn't really talk about his manufacturing process, or what kind of background he has for larger scale manufacturing. I know he 3d prints stuff, but that doesn't mean a lot when it comes to fulfilling something of this scale. Last edited by Chad B; 09-03-2021 at 04:16 PM.. |

I’m tempted to pledge for this… but the liberal use of trademarked IP they most likely don’t have the rights to makes me hesitant. I don’t want my payment to clear only to have these guys served a C&D and get nothing. Just call it something else to be safe.

Looking at it right now it's 70% funded with only 30 backers and three weeks yet to go; so I'm pretty sure it's gonna succeed. At so low a Funding minimum and order count doing this with traditional molding/casting would be a flagrant waste of money, time, and materials; imho. These are guaranteed to be 3DPrinted, imho.
