It's up on their website as "out if stock" & priced at $125...which gets a big ol' NO DICE! from me. Basically they're trying to use nostalgia to sell cheap drugstore toys for ridiculous prices. It's ironic when you consider this shit was literally created as budget toys to sell at rock bottom prices, and are now being hawked as some sort of collectible at a premium.

Wow, I am not cheap but that price point is almost insulting. I was all ready to buy four.

These will be in stock and up for sale before the first of December.
And for the negative cost remarks, something to consider is all the tooling costs involved as this set had to be completely retooled, as many of the original molds were unusable. That and that this is a smaller production run for direct market means yes the costs are higher. I'm fully supporting this project, and if it means anything to anyone here this as well as all of The TimMee products are Made in the U.S.A. https://timmeeusa.com/products/jl-ti...39612444377222 https://timmeeusa.com/products/jl-ti...39590843318406

Apparently, they were "the king" of cheap "dime store" toys from the 1950s until they finally threw in the towel in 2005 in the face of competition from China presumably. And now they've been resurrected as a "made in the USA" brand, still selling a lot of cheap looking toys but at high prices (eg, $18.90 for a bag of little green army men). In the midst of the pandemic and shipping crisis, I've seen a lot of comments to toy companies of why don't you just make the toys in the States?! And the companies respond that they doubt they could, but if they could no one would pay the prices required. Who knows what this new Tim Mee's profit margin is, but on the surface the prices and reaction to them kind of look like an illustration of what toy companies have been saying. _____ "Tim Mee Toys was 'King of the Dime Store Toys' since the 1950's, but sadly had to shut down in 2005 due to overseas competition. Today, Tim Mee has a new parent company, J Lloyd International Inc. VictoryBuy is pleased to offer exclusive reissues of these classic Tim Mee toys, manufactured with pride in the USA, using the original molds and tooling. These are real toys, made to be set up, knocked down, picked up and played with for years to come." https://victorybuy.com/collections/tim-mee-toys |

All those times Axonrey called nostalgia-based retro products "predatory" is echoing in my mind.
You want something exactly like this that will cost a fraction of that price? Cut up a few milk jugs.

yeah, 100 bucks for timmee/processed plastic/gay toys nostalgic toy i never even had - no purchase. it's a shame because i was actually excited about this and that space ship. in the long run being expensive is doing me a favor, because i would have to find space to put them and they'd just sit in their box until i ever do.
a few years back i went a little crazy looking for the lazer force tank. i ended up paying 30 bucks each for the rebought ones (the first one i bought was wrong, because i didnt know they made different versions) and i felt like that was too much. |

I get the economics, of course, and maybe $125 per unit is what Timmee Toys needs, but knowing what I know about nothing, it feels like that's ridiculous. Regardless, it isn't a need for me, and definitely not a want at that price, so it's moot. Good luck to them though.
