There is a Kickstarter going right now for 3d printed vegetable based resin 1:18 figures. You can find the information here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...res-and-comics

I saw Empire Toy Works had the speeder a few weeks ago. I love the concept but some of the figures, they don’t look high quality. Same as the O Ring kick going on. I wish them the best of luck.

They lost me at 3D printed.
3D printing is great for prototyping and non articulated pieces. I hate it for action figures and the like. The vegetable based resin just sounds like pandering. |

yeah i dont know how i feel about it. they're rough, but that's the quality of his print settings.
im miffed the ship is only a kit you can buy, rather than a set of stls. i was watching out for this, for specifically that space ship. im not thrilled that scorched earth's kickstarter is STUPID expensive. but im sure the peanut gallery here will say "25 bucks for a figure, and only in sets of 2 is beyond fair!" and i'll look at you with my 75 dollar backing for 3 figures and say "the fuck it is not. these were said to be head swapping figures and there is only one head included and you MUST buy sets of 2 before you can buy a single figure. no single figure option available." |

Teccotoys released last year some figures for free in 1/35 scale. I upsized them to 1/18 and the printing result was quite awesome but the design there it top. I still didn't paint any of them but used helmet on other figures I customized. And at the time I used a resin which for articulation is not the best. Meanwhile I found resins much better for this producing soft or very soft prints. One of them even react to heat making them softer for assembly. That one in particular is ABS like, its very hard to break.

For resin prints? These are not very crisp, to put it gently.
What I see looks more like an initial print test done before issues were resolved properly, or work done on an early generation filament printer. I would also say that the original 3D files could honestly use some more attention. Compared to some of the absolutely beautiful sculpting and resin based printing I've seen for a smaller (28mm tabletop gaming) format, this is definitely not what I would consider top shelf quality..

Nope you have to pay for them now.
https://teccotoys.com/collections/di...on-figure-file https://teccotoys.com/collections/di...on-figure-file But the designs are quite good. It's worth the money. I think I gave some cash at the time they were free. There was an option to tip them. From the astronaut guy I used the helmet in some customs I did using some fortnite figures. https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...astronaut.html https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...astronaut.html
