What's your ideal level of articulation for an action figure?

I want it to have at least ball joints in the shoulders, hips, and ankles. Up/down and left/right for neck. Swivel for the arms, wrist, and waist. A bend at the elbows and knees. So around 20 or so points.

Wouldn't the required articulation be subjective to the character represented? The human form portrayed as a knight would need a certain amount of articulation, but his horse would require a different amount. A Centaur would require combination of the two, and more articulation than either individually.
Ideally 192 POA should fairly replicate standard bipedal human movement. 225 POA for a horse. 453 POA for a centaur Probably 500-600 POA for squids and octopi. |

GI Joe ARAH 3 3/4 figure articulation is the minimum amount of articulation required in my opinion.
Anything beyond that is case dependant. Anything less than that (for example swivel hips only) reduces impulse sales and greater use application. Compare swivel hip Lanard Corps! figures to ball jointed Lanard Corps! figures (or ARAH gi joe to 5 points of articulation GI Joe). |

The way Marauder figures are constructed is the ideal level for me.

I'm not a fan of double-jointed knees/elbows, nor hinged wrists/ankles, nor ab-crunch/diaphragm-swivel.
