As a kid in Kodiak Ak back in the 80s the Sears catalog was like a magical looking glass into heaven. The two small stores that carried toys there had a pretty small selection of each years releases. I'd keep it next to my bed like a bible.

It's great to hear that Sears is back in the toy game, but they need to have a good game plan or else they will fail. TRU, Walmart and Target already have the advantage. Sears will have to do several things to get in the toy selling business quickly. They'll have to get the product as quickly or quicker then the big 3. They'll have to price the products either at the same price or lower then the big three. Their toy section has to be attractive and organized.
If these things aren't achieved, they'll just end up being K-Mart and Kohls clones where their toy section is a joke. |

Great news! The more places carrying toys, the better. I hope we get some cool stuff there.

Could this be a sign that kids are going back to action figures and other real world toys as opposed to video games?

I'm note entirely sure if KB's demise actually left a void... if the company was filling a specific need, why was it having so many problems for so many years?
That siad.. It's potentially good news. |
