It is the uncertainty of the Star Wars Haslab project that is keeping me from pulling my trigger. I need like 2 grand right now to catch up on all my lines, and it doesn’t look like that stimulus check is coming in August. I think I may have to pass on this.

Yeah I'm definitely honest and upfront with my wife about this stuff. I've started slow with my collection years ago, and it has snowballed year after year. My wife is not a numbers person at all though. She does say, however, whenever I'm torn about a toy purchase, to go for it. Because she's seen me regret not buying something too many times, lol. By contrast, I don't think I've ever had serious regret about a purchase I HAVE made.
I haven’t lied about my purchases, but I may not correct her when she says something along the lines of “oh don’t worry about spending x dollars on that". I may not correct her, but I don’t lie. She and I have a good system for this type of thing: We have 3 separate checking accounts (and various saving accounts). One is our joint account for paying all bills, food, household, etc and then she and I have our own individual accounts. She uses hers for clothing and plants in the spring and I use mine for toys and cars. as long as we have money In the joint account to pay the bills (and the ‘Hawaii account...aka savings account for traveling....our retirement contributions come out pretax and automatically so we don’t worry about that), she doesn’t care how I spend my extra cash. I did learn recently though that she does have a single purchase dollar amount that qualifies for ‘talking it over’ with her which is around 1k. I learned that when I started Half heartily talking about a quality repaint for my summer car’s hood, bumper and fenders . She thought I was talking about dropping the 2k on it tomorrow when I was talking a few years out. As far as regrets: so far not many. I do regret buying the Kmart exclusive vintage collection B Wing few weeks back. I was (and still am) on a Star Wars vehicle kick and Wanted to beef up my rebels fleet. I never really loved the b-wing, but it called my name at the local comic shop. Then I opened it, saw r to he weird color scheme and the sheer size of it and kinda regret it. It might be hitting eBay soon. Last edited by PFC Hudson; 08-06-2020 at 04:00 PM.. |

Almost anything you buy nowadays can be sold, usually for a profit or at least not much of a loss, so it's definitely a lot easier to regret NOT buying something than to regret buying it.
It's possible these big HasLab things will be hard to sell, but I doubt it. If you're on the fence, you should get the Sentinel and then sell it later if you don't like it (assuming you can afford it). I don't collect many Marvel Legends so I have no interest in it, and it's way too big to be a casual purchase (and at the moment, I'd rather have 17 more Cobra Troopers than one Sentinel anyway).

I'm still on the fence about this. It looks awesome, but I've been avoiding Marvel Legends. I don't want to collect the line and I already have the Marvel Universe version, but this blows that one away. My main issue with purchasing this is the fact that I also have Galactus from the MU line and this will be bigger than him.

Tbh, I was only interested in this because of the Bastion figure being included, and later on the female Prime Sentinel figure. I'm hoping Hasbro does what they did with (most of) their convention exclusives like Dormammu and release both figures as army-builders.
Plus, I wasn't interested in having a two-foot Sentinel in my room. I'd rather have Bastion flanked by a few Prime Sentinels. If anything, I'd only get the huge Sentinel because of the Master Mold head, but even then...

Just reminding everyone it's the last day for this. I'm still on the fence about this, but now I'm leaning towards passing. There's too many other toys I'd rather have. Plus, the upcoming Star Wars Haslab, as we've mentioned.

I'm in, just for one though. I've seen people on other boards talking about picking up 3 or more O.o

Yeah my buddy is buying 3. If I do sit this one out and regret it later, I can probably pressure him into selling me one at near cost.

I don't know, the trinity of three is strong in displays, he may not want to part with one later. Maybe, you'd be better pressuring him now to buy a fourth one, which will then be easier for him to part with later. :P
