Thanks.
This seems like a pretty good deal overall. You could even troop build it if you wanted. You could get 5, and sell off 2 and probably get enough to pay for 3-4 of them. Of course a $1750 loan to Hasbro is kind of a tough pill to swallow. For me this is no go, but I wonder how many I would get if there was an ME 4" Joe offering. Here's hoping we will see one of these someday!!! I’m not sure about it being worth the cost though. The 19” guy was like $100 10 years ago, and the rerelease was about the same. This is about 1/3 larger and even with costs going up a price jump to $350 is a lot. The old one has electronic sounds. So far this guy just has light up eyes.

This HasLab Sentinel is very cool, though my first thought was that it seems kind of expensive, no? If memory serves, the Marvel Universe Sentinel was maybe $50, so this is maybe 50% bigger, but 700% more expensive?
That said, with 5,000 backers already, clearly Marvel Legends fans are voting enthusiastically with their wallets. With probably 300 Marvel Universe figures in my display shelf, I must admit I'd be tempted by this one, even at that price. But, thankfully for my wallet, I wouldn't have the space to display it. When this comes out, I do look forward to seeing photos of it in people's display. There's at least a couple of guys out there with a dozen or couple of dozen MU and/or ML Sentinels. So would love to see one or more of these big boys slide into some photos with those. EDIT: Spotted Hasbro's comp photo and so height wise it's more like nearly 70% taller. But it's a lot more plastic, maybe up to 3x as much? And then the devil is in the details, which this presumably has more into. So maybe with packed-in 6" figure, it's easily a $200-250 toy. Still feels a bit pricey, but I guess there's a premium with these HasLab projects. Anyway, ultimately it's whatever the market will bear and seems like lots of collectors are happy to bear it at this price tag. Last edited by jabalong; 07-11-2020 at 06:16 AM.. |

This would look especially great in a diorama or photo shoot with the 4” figures. If my son did the math right, it is still about four inches too short to be true to that scale, but it would look great nonetheless.
That being said, the Star Wars offering coming up means I will likely have to pass on this. I like the idea of maybe ordering two and selling one to offset costs, but I am not sure I want to gamble the money. I will have to see how the stretch goals look. |

Don't confuse height with size. The HasLab Sentinel is only 1.67 times the height of the Days of Future Past Sentinel, but it is 4.68 times larger volumetrically. Also, it's just superior all around -- better sculpting, better paint, better articulation, better features...
I don't collect ML or any mass retail 6" lines anymore, but I'm getting one to go with my Mezco One 12 and Mafex figures. Selling off the pack-in figure will probably put it below $300. |

I'm confused. Are they counting the number of units sold as the amount towards unlocking the stretch goals, or are they counting the number of backers only? So if someone orders 5 items, will that count as 5 towards the goals, or just one since it is only one backer?

EDIT: Nevermind. I thought they only single-jointed the elbows but after closer inspection I think they're double-jointed.

Yep I got my two 1/18 Sentinels from Ross for what one would pay for a Legends basic figure...those were the days.
