So I've been moving a lot of figures into individual cases since they've been cheap on Amazon.ca, and while doing that I committed to redoing my figure collection list.
I got my "non-display" Joes, about 100 or so, entered into a spreadsheet - just a simple one with the name, version, year, and line. I figure I'll get the display shelves done this weekend (even though a lot more there will be customs or other lines). My wife said that I should get a label maker to put tags on the cases, and I was thinking about that. But I was wondering - how does everyone here keep track of the crap they have? |

Spreadsheet, description, store bought, date, price, notes. Prior to receiving, it's Notepad listing what I pre-ordered, date, expected date.
Christopher Mcleod from Full Force has a free app called Hoarder to track collections and I think you can have pics in it. Sounded like back in the day, yojoe.com was a good way to track. |

I just look at my shelves. As far as stuff coming in, I've got an excellent memory.

Completely on whims. I usually remember what I have and where it is. If I need to refresh I will go thru it. I have shelves and Sterilite drawers to keep things in and if the collection gets big enough that I don?t remember what I have it?s too big and I sell it down to where I know what I have. That part of the fun.

Figures in the Detolf (currently at 18) are displayed alphabetically, Joes then Cobras. These are regular releases. Convention sets get their own display space, but if they're sub-teams like Tiger Force I tend to group them together. Classified gets the same treatment, but I do troop builders at 10 a piece, so those get displayed separately after the individual characters.

I was using the Toy COllector 2 and Toy Collector 3 apps but they've migrated to the hobbyDB web site. I've found that not all of the Joe figures that were in the apps are on the site yet. I do like the site because it has a huge database of figures/toys.
