Hot Toys has revealed photos and info for a new Masterpiece Alien. Based on the design from the original 1979 film, this fully posable figure is 1/6 scale. The figure is scheduled for release on October 12, with a price of about $200.

There's actually quite a few inaccuracies with this figure. It's really too bad...
Previous Alien figures from Hot Toys had a lot of quality control problems, mainly with joints breaking too easily. Just an FYI in case some of you were planning on spending the $200.

The main problem I have with it is that you can see too much of the skull... and even then, the eyes have this "mean" look that they shouldn't have if you look at pics of the original suit.
But the real reason I won't rush to spend $150-200 on this is because of what I've read about their previous Aliens figures. A lot of the rubber used on them have deteriorated over time (and we're only talking maybe 2-3 years here), and joints have literally just crumbled in peoples' hands. Hot Toys makes AWESOME 12" figures, but I'm not convinced they've got the Aliens down pat just yet. I'm not betting $200 on it, that's for sure - I'll wait to see the final product (they say it's not the final sculpt) and read the reviews as to its durability.
