Yeah, marine multipacks would have been good if they had offered some multipacks of earlier game versions. I like the Halo 3 version best. My kids and I don't have any connection to whatever Halo game these newer marine designs came from so we got our fill of those pretty quickly. We have a squad of goofy goatee marine clones, but some variety would have been nice.
But for me, I think hunters...why no hunters? Those would have sold two by two. They're the only "main" class of covenant we never got (only the winged bug things come to mind as other covenant that weren't released and those never featured as prominently as hunters). EDIT: Engineers too, I guess. We never saw the magnum released either. All those masterchief releases and they never popped a pistol in there to entice a purchase? The checkpoint and armory sets...no pistols? Give me a banshee, wraith, scorpion, hunters, and then the noble team and alpha 9 team (if they fixed the crappy ODST sculpt) and I think we could have found a happy breaking point for the line. There is always more to want, but that would have covered a lot of foundational and core story aspects reasonably well. Still, I'm glad we got as much as we did. I had been waiting a decade for 1/18 halo by the time they announced these. One more gripe - the Jazwares Vault "opened" today and I was really disappointed (but not surprised) that there wasn't any Halo, even after some indicators that there would be. But on the positive side, I was very happy to get these guys in 1/18th as well. I had always wanted figures that would match my preferred scale and felt the MacFarlane figures were too large. I felt like the SpruKits were close but these guys were perfect.

So, is this line officially confirmed to be over, then? It kind of sounds like we're reading its eulogy right now.

It's feeling that way. There is supposed to be a Vault release but I believe it will be the larger scale figures rather than the 1:18.

Nothing official, it's just that the line has been missing long enough to declare it legally dead.
Wal-Mart stopped carrying it first, then Target, then Meijer. Amazon only has multi-packs and they cancelled whatever the $80 vehicle was as well as one or two other mystery listings if memory serves. One whole wave never showed up in the US. Jazwares' own web store has 8 Halo items, not all of which are from this scale/line, and does not include any of the missing wave. This just looks like something I've seen before.

Have any of you disassembled the Spartan figures? I have a few extra MC's and Spartans that I want to customize.

Kind of disappointing. I was hoping to get that figure that looked like Apone from Aliens. Was that ever released?

The neck is a separate piece from the body and is only glued on. Be careful with them or be prepared to re-glue them.

Sgt. Johnson was part of that Wave 5 we essentially missed. And go figure, as he's one of the more popular characters.
