I see both sides on it, kinda seems like a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. On the one hand, if they'd gone straight to the herd immunity plan, and a million people died, there'd be pitchforks... and now that the toll so far seems to be coming in far below projections, I get the feeling that people are going to be raising forks soon enough anyway. And neither side of the media is helping at all.
Remember when it was a safe bet that you could at least somewhat trust the news? And is it shitty that I'm going to send Donald Trump a thank you letter for $1200 worth of GIJoes and Super Nintendo games?

Agree that the G.I. Joe Classified figures will be delayed; I was just thinking out loud re: my last post. I also collect comic book collected edition's (CE's) that reprint older comics; and, it looks like all of the forthcoming ones are delayed as well.
That being said, delays on toys and comic books are the least of our problems: Quote:
Many doctors who have been dealing with the Coronavirus patients for the past several weeks with their illness and recoveries are saying that it's ridiculous to shut down the economy over this. They say that the people who have compromised immune systems should be the ones who stay quarantined and let the more healthy ones continue to work and stay away from the less healthy ones.
That being said, I myself am fortunate to be able to work from home fully (which I was only doing two days a month before the virus). And, given that I'm almost 50 - I don't feel comfortable going back to work anytime soon. I live in a major metropolitan area & take the train to work every day. And, both the metro & my downtown office building get a lot of foot traffic. I seem to be relatively healthy (for the most part), but I am of the age that I need to be concerned about possibly getting the virus & having a negative reaction (don't have it yet, as far as I know). So, obviously - keeping everyone home (as much as possible) for a while longer will continue to reduce the chances of virus transmission. Going along with this, what's especially scary about the virus is that - even with the "shut-downs" in place over much of the world, people are still getting sick. Imagine if the government(s) hadn't instituted/mandated these..things would be A LOT worse. |

Don't waste your time sending it to Trump. It's not coming out of his pocket, and he didn't write the bill. If you want to send a thank you letter, send it to your congressman or senator. They're the ones who put the bill together and almost unanimously voted for it. All Trump did is sign it, and his signature was a mute point, because there was more than enough votes to override a veto anyway.
Without letting my personal politics bleed in too much, I don't care for any of them.
