More info on the JoyToy 1:18 figures including interchangeability with acid rain and boss fight studios and a parts breakdown.
Great if you like to customize your figures.

Well, I finally dipped my toes into the Joytoy line... and I may have made a terrible mistake. They're awesome.
And the first one even arrived missing any right hands (got three lefts). But I bought through Amazon and Joytoy responded immediately, is shipping two right hands and gave me a 10% off coupon code which I promptly used on another set. |

Yeah, same here. I know most of their stuff is just repaints, but dang if I don’t buy them all. They do better with repaints than Hasbro does.

They have a lot more accessories when compared to hasbro. That's what makes the possibilities infinite and also hard to tell. Almost every figure has a vest, shoulder pad, belt etc... Hasbro doesn't do this, uses molded in and then you can easily tell which mold it is.
I think they are doing an awesome job. With them in the market I doubt hasbro will ever bring 4'' joes again, at least anytime soon.

Agreed. I’m annoyed that people don’t give this line a chance based on the initial run when they started out (HIYA suffers from the same issue). While I didn’t have any QC issues with the first run - and actually enjoyed gluing all the pouches in place for the first run of the 20ish figures- I know people did, but no start up company is going to nail it on the first get go. At the time the figures were so good I could look past the issues that some people were having.
The poses that these figures can do (as well as the really good joints that aren’t too tight and not too loose) and accessories they come with is amazing. It’s cool they have something for every person as well... WW2, modern warfare, sci-fi. I would say that they only thing they could improve on is the head sculpts, but even then they are doing stuff that most companies aren’t: smirks, yelling, angry, etc (the issues I have with the sculpts are size and some color issues, but I tend to have 90% of them with helmets on, so it doesn’t really matter to me). I like that they include extra joints. Of the 75ish figures I have from them (just guessing I. That number ) I think I’ve only had to replace 2 and that was because I was a dumb ass and pushed to hard on a frozen joint and didn’t heat it up. |

My biggest problem with Joy Toy is deciding between buying another squad of figures or a new mech. First world problems.

My biggest problem with them is the timing. Almost every month there is new stuff. Plus many of them makes it difficult for me to pass. I did pass a lot of sets from the first waves, my first one was that Wolf Russian guys with bionic arms. You had to glue stuff on those. Someone said the last figures from Battle for Stars was the Wasteland, I thought ok so my wallet now will have some rest, but then surprise surprise two more sets with armored suits.
Oh that and the prices, although with some coupons and a good eye you can buy them cheaper I think in average each figure is costing €15 to €20. Normally I try to get them at a €15 or less price tag.
