Yeah, that Amazon placeholder listing has been up since August for the 24 Days of Fortnite advent calendar. Around the same time, the physical set leaked in China.

But with this line, the past few years, placeholder listings and China leaks don't mean the product will ever see the light of day at retail.

Even a Jazwares announcement has to be taken with a grain of salt, as they've announced stuff on social media/their website that didn't follow through.

Still, if they did announce this advent calendar last week, I'm curious to know where that was.

EDIT: I heard that this placeholder listing briefly changed to an available preorder around the 11th. Maybe it means these will show up, but that's happened before with preorders cancelled.

They almost killed MGS but it amazingly survived and recovered..

Yeah, there's some kind of story out there about how only this toy company seems to have been utterly destroyed by COVID. Stuff keeps running off the production lines but never reaches retailers; so what's happening with the distributors that this stuff just seems to vanish? I'm imagining somebody in charge of Chinese docks has a nit to pick with JazWares' CEO or the like, like this shit's *personal* somehow.

There's definitely a story to be told behind this line, as it's been so weird in so many ways for so long with so much unreleased product. I can't think of another line with this level of dysfunction in this volume for so long.

Most of the stuff coming out of China the past couple of years has just been sample products, not production runs. There seems to be a disconnect between designers and factory continuing to design, while the sales department doesn't sell and/or retailers aren't interested.

That said, some small signs of life with Amazon. That 24 Days of Fortnite advent calendar did indeed ship to people able to grab it in the briefest of windows that it was up for order. There's also talk that the Battle Bus (Vibin') will show up shortly. There are a few other Amazon placeholder listings, but these often don't materialize.
