The women aren’t bad... but even the dudes have thighs way out of proportion to their bodies.

Here’s some Fortnite figures I’ve customized to make some civilians and other weirdos.
Random inner city civs: Dreadnok: Battle Ready Bongo the Balloon Bear/Candy Appel and Ralphie the Vigilante: Black Knight lower leg swap: Ragnarok and Battlehound with paint touch ups:

Agree. I don’t have many MTF Vals because they look so unrealistic compared to what people actually look like. Love putting a few Fortnite women in my collection for some realism. My collection is some sort of GI Joe based head fiction that includes all sorts of lines.
Other than maybe calls for civilians, the number one request I see in threads/groups across product lines is for a greater variety of body types (taller, shorter, heavier, etc). Yet, when figures come out with proportions that don't meet one's expectations, people are quick to complain. I don't dispute that Fortnite figures have beefier thighs and that some of the female figures give an impression of being squat or vertically compressed. But I also agree that these are proportions that are very common in day-to-day life, particularly when it comes to the ladies. Marauders for instance has nice figures, but there's a definite Ken and Barbie nature to their proportions, that's not very realistic, or at least limiting. |

That Midfield Maestro/Luminos mash-up looks great. Was on the fence about needing either of those figures, but I might just need to pick them up to combine. If you're looking for a headswap on Technique, she looks great and punky with the Marauder head with short pink hair (out of stock now, but maybe restocking soon?). I love that Bone Wasp. Also looking forward to X-Lord, which has a similar baggy, futuristic streetwear vibe to it I think. |

Speaking of X-Lord, first shots of what the product actually looks like (previously only a promo mock-up photo available), courtesy of French retailer JouéClub.
EDIT: Looks like it's on Amazon now too, but not yet in stock. Last edited by jabalong; 09-03-2020 at 01:50 AM.. |

If anyone's wondering, Eternal Voyager doesn't have a standard head ball joint, so probably doesn't lend itself to headswapping. It's kind of a fat, wide joint, similar to the Iron Man 2 toyline Ultimate Iron Man, but a little narrower. I was surprised how the helmet is significantly smaller than on Dark Voyager, but it kind of works somehow.

The discussion about the proportions of the Fornite figures is an interesting case study of the hobby.
Let me short circuit the next misunderstanding and specify that I'm not demanding they divert from the source material by correcting to use better human proportions or changing paint themes or anything. They have source material to work from and I was explicitly complimenting their fidelity to that source material. I was merely lamenting what I regard as a waste of that fidelity being used on Fortnite because the Fortnite proportions are not acceptable to me. My beef is with the Fortnite aesthetic (specifically the inhuman proportions...a comparison to Looney Tunes characters would be a gross exaggeration but would be illustrative of the general concept), not with Jazwares' output and not with variant body types or physiques.

Just a question why is the future squad mode $60 and the other 4 packs are around $40? Is amazon scalping? I haven't got the set yet but I'm not paying amazon an extra $20 for this set.

Great stuff. I really like the civilians. Fortnite figures have lots of great fodder for near-future-type civilian fashion styles.

It was $40, but I think its wider release was held up by current global situation. Limited supply means higher prices once initial stock runs low. The higher price is from online sellers partnering with Amazon, not Amazon itself.
