Just trim the arrowhead tip of the MTF peg back a millimeter or two instead of drilling out the forearm, mate. I'm not a fan of the new ball-motion wrists (that's something Spiderman needs, not regular humans when Spiderman *doesn't* have it, imho) and have swapped them all out for MTFs and am much happier overall.

If you can track them down The PLA Anti-terrorist unit is the better representation of modern PLA troops and can hold weapons much better (they even have the CCP flag on their uniform unlike the Ground Forces) I went back and grabbed three more squads when I got my bonus from my job.
What a cool looking set. I'll be on the lookout for it at JoeFest, as a quick search on Ebay shows it a bit high compared to what I was able to get the Russian infantry for. |

Its high because it is now out of production. I hastened to track down a few more sets as soon as I saw Locker Toys was out of stock.

It's a shame the Maintenance Crew sets are so expensive and also have a Chase figure (that sells for North of $200 itself on Ebay).
Would love to get a few to fill out my ARAH Headquarters motor pool. |

With the amount of maintenance related dioramas and mechs, I bet those crews will be around for a while, or at least variations of them.

I put together a video of us opening and playing with the armored figures with hammers and shields. This might be my favorite set. They feel really heavy and powerful like space marines.

https://youtu.be/mAmO7bYczzM In the JoyToy office they have a massive set of a bunch of their dioramas combined. Has anyone messed around with them too much? They look great. |

On the other hand, JT hasn't shown a single lick of interest in extra production runs. I suspect they're using cheaper not-steel 'disposable' molds like gashapon do; and that the molds are unusable once the production run is complete.

Yea - good point. I saw the maintenance crews on amazon for 120ish. Very tempted as I think they make good colonists for aliens.

So they do toss those molds for Gashapon? Then again, I've never seen Gashapon re-released minus the Sailor Moon ones of recent times, but those seem to be new molds based off the old set and not the actual OG molds.

That is disconcerting given the price of these figures. The steel tooling is usually a big a big factor in the cost of production and a contribution to the price. Also frustrating for those of us who aren't able to immediately jump on pre-orders knowing that JT may not be able to put another order in.
